Nearly 4 pages and not one mention of El Tel and Rider.

Shame on you, shame on you all.

Oh and the answer is World in Motion. Always.

World in motion works a lot better when the sun is shining and it’s extremely hot. Three Lions is a more “all weather” song.

Sweat Caroline seems to be in the headlines.
Sung way before football at cricket matches.
I was lucky enough to be at the cricket World Cup final at Lords in 2019.
What a day with England winning and the best rendition of Sweat Caroline I’ve every heard !
Hopefully bettered by thousands at Wembley tonight.
And same result :fxd:

'Three Lions' mainly because I'm a fan of Frank Skinner.
It's always puzzled me how Keith Allen appears in an England shirt when he's Welsh! Not a fan of New Order either so that goes against it. Having said that it's not as annoying as that 'Sweet Caroline' song I've been hearing all morning on the tv. Don't see the connection myself.

If the Neil Diamond tune is sang because of the feel good factor, surely the tune below is more appropriate about feeling upbeat. I mean, that Caroline probably broke his heart and dumped him further down the line. It's what women do

An annoying ear worm, but a great chorus and a great message.

To see England fans shamelessly chore 'Sweet Caroline' from little old Norn Iron and try to pass it off as their own is galling in the extreme....but I'll let it pass this time purely because of this:

England are gonna be scoring, and the people are gonna be roaring...

I love New Order but definitely 3 Lions for me.

The video for the 96 version is great as well, I used to love Phoenix from the Flames.

Seeing as we nicked Sweet Caroline from the cricket fans, why not go the whole hog and get Jerusalem too.

Imagine that being belted out as the players enter the pitch.

Just heard Atomic Kitten’s revised Whole Again with the words Football’s coming home again shoe horned in. Truly awful

On the thread title, World in Motion is the better song but Three Lions makes for a better terrace anthem, as does Vindaloo.

Agreed but for me it's more to do with italia 90 much better memories than euro 96

But neither of them is as good as vindaloo , which is my ringtone

Of relevance I feel...ice cream van in Sheffield was jangling out Match of the Day theme a while ago.

(and there was one playing Bubbles the other week - odd for Sheffield)
