Really not comfortable at all with Dawson and Diop in defence. I'm not sure Moyes is either which is why he's prioritising the centre-back signing.

Decent game so far, both managers will be happy, some good football played at a good temp for match fitness.
Coventry has done ok. A couple of times he been caught in possession, just needs to release the ball quicker at times. Ability wise he looks on a par to Noble. Whether that is good enough as a backup to Rice and Soucek if one of them gets injured for a lengthy period of premier league games I’m not sure.

I feel like we are playing with our backs to their goal too much. We need to get in behind and I'm sure we will score.

Very pre-seasony!
Coventry's been tidy, without looking to penetrate too much.
Fornals looks good.
Playing fredericks and johnson on the right won't create us much as they're both pretty similar.
We could definitely do with some wingers in the squad and a striker.

I know this is like a reserve side but on the whole they are playing better than some first team West Ham’s I’ve seen in the past.

I have real issues with Diop from crosses

He drops deeper than the line, he often misjudges flight and then looks clumsy

Diop missing the header yet again, Cresswell not tracking his runner yet again.

That left channel is a real problem.

To be honest, this game is probably a good argument for why Lingard is worth pursuing. Though it's probably accentuated by Bowen's absence. No real sprinters other than Antonio when we break.
