Had that period where it felt Allardyce couldn’t lose to Swansea.

I seem to recall barely ever losing to Coventry either.
In terms of our bogey teams, you'd have to say Liverpool, Arsenal, Bolton and Reading are up there.

Used to be Chelsea before they become mega rich.
Few others. Barnsley, Coventry, Cardiff, Orient, Fulham, Southampton, Watford.

Newcastle seem to have our card marked, more often than not.Billydinho wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 2:55 pm In terms of our bogey teams, you'd have to say Liverpool, Arsenal, Bolton and Reading are up there.

We beat them 2-0 in the play off semi at their place and then, when expecting a reaction from them at Upton Park, we did them 5-0.
One of the few occasion I pitied the opposition to be honest.

Decent OV this time from these lot, I think the chap who posted that the new ref rules will help us is spot on, we really are a physical side and we will benefit I feel.

Yes, that's the Leicester City supporters I recall, superciliousness personified in this one, maybe the three arse whippings we gave them has sunk in.Up the Junction wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 2:46 pm The fun is in comparing it to April's comments... they appear to have grudgingly accepted WHUFC are a decent side after all.

Poor old Brendan though, an FA Cup and Community Shield v the two most moneyed team in the world and they still think they can pick his teams for him.

We in fact beat them in the away fixture, before the play offs, beat them in the League Cup the season one after that one, and, once they came up, doubled them in the Prem, too.
I was with a couple of Cardiff in the stands, when we beat them in the LC; we scored twice in the first 10 mins!

Blackburn and Fulham are two others we have certainly had the better of.
Bolton are one of the worst in the Premier League era for us. Our record against them is absolutely atrocious. At least when you think about our record against Arsenal, they have been a top side for most of it...
Including cups since the Premier League:
P - 26
W - 7
D - 4
L - 15
Our last meeting with them was beating them 3-0 in the cup when they were in a lower league. Before that we had lost our previous 8 in a row against them.

I've never read the word 'bullied' over and over again in such quick succession as during that OV.
I think it's fair to say that we bullied them last night. Love it.

I thought the same. It's like they are trying to make themselves believe that they were playing beautiful tikka-takka football, and we just bludgeoned our way through.
The match was largely won on Moyes' tactics and system and the players' attitude, energy and teamwork. If that is "bullying" our chief bullies were Fornals, Bowen and Benrahma - all about 5ft not very much inches!

Here’s a random fact:
That was the first time we have won a game attacking the Sir Trevor Brooking stand in the 2nd half since we moved to the London Stadium! I am not sure if we have done in a Cup game, but certainly not for a Premier League game. Crazy!
