Areola - 5m loan to buy
Zouma - 25-30m
Lingard 20m
Sima - Loan to buy
Would be a perfect window, we never needed 8-10 new players, just a handful that'll improve the team in every position depth wise. I'd be more than happy with that.

Genie is out of the bag though. You'd just get the player asking for an extra x% on top to cover their agents fees - or more accurately the agent negotiating for the player to get the extra %.RockyMtnHammer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 3:48 pm I think the buyer, in most circumstances.
Yes, for free transfers, typically the player's agent charges a fee for the contract negotiations.
I wish we had more of an American model to agency, where the player pays the agent, not the clubs. It would lead to less agents trying to push for moves and unsettle their clients because the money for a move is coming out of the client's pocket.
If players paid agents a retainer, and a small percentage of their contract when negotiations end I think it'd be a win for all parties, except maybe the agents.
It's hard for Europe to take any cues from American sports, the power is much more in the hands of the teams. Try to go on strike in the NFL - you won't get paid and then in a few months you'll find yourself traded to a bunch of no hopers.

Am well pleased with Zouma (assuming it should go ahead now)
I feel like we will end up with Lingard before the window closes and if we do get a striker in too then it will be a good window (but still f*** GSB get them out)

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021
Someone on Twitter said our deal apparently falling through the other day but now going ahead for £25M stinks of us agreeing a deal to sell Rice to Chelsea for a lowered fee or something next summer...
and now I cannot "unthink" it...

Who in their right mind would sell a player for cheaper than they're worth in exchange for a "gentleman's agreement" that they'll do the same for their player next year, especially if the gentleman in question is David Sullivan

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021
If the player has an agent negotiating his contract the player pays. If the selling club has an agent finding a new club for the player the selling club pay. If the buying club had an agent to find a player the buying club pay. All fees agreed an an contract of employment signed at the outset. Any other agents can do one.

Really doubt that.
I think we'll sell Rice, but I don't think we've underpaid for Zouma in any way.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021
Consensus amongst Chelsea fans seems to be that we will have a bargain in Zouma. Recent French international, prime age, great character too apparently. Makes Ben White look expensive at twice the price.Westbourne Bill wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:22 pm It did also to our FD - he was on holiday at the time.
