Apart from a couple of bell-ends, they were mostly pretty sensible and realistic - sounded like us before Moyes got a grip, actually - utterly disillusioned, sick of the club from top to bottom.

They're sixth in the Premier League, three years after appearing in a Champions League final.Kludgehammer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 3:00 pmApart from a couple of bell-ends, they were mostly pretty sensible and realistic - sounded like us before Moyes got a grip, actually - utterly disillusioned, sick of the club from top to bottom.
We were fighting relegation, again.

Nor me, I put it down to the ' we've signed someone new so he must be better than what we have' attitude.

This one was my favourite, too. Absolutely fantastic stuff.psychoscoredthelot wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 2:43 pm my favourite one
"62% of possession. 629 of passes compared to 364 (nearly double). Probably the best chance with Kane’s free header. I’m surprised their fans are even bothering to celebrate such a hollow win. Reckon the Prem will give us the points off West Ham retrospectively after seeing these damning statistics? Quite frankly I am embarrassed for West Ham."

Seems most likely he said something that wound up Fornals. The fact no one has made anything of it after the match speaks volumes.

On the MOTD coverage you don’t see it leave his mouth but you can definitely see a white blob hit the ground (99% sure anyway ) , it happens very quick though.
EDIT: watching it back again and now I can’t see anyting - Antonio matrix celebration may be more than it seems...

I particularly enjoyed "Don Corleone", ranting and raving at length over how he "couldn’t care less about Spurs this season anymore".Up the Junction wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 2:23 pm The opposition view: Tottenham

One guy certainly has issues if he thought Skipp had a better showing than Rice And Soucek. It truly is half term, isn't it?

Spurs fans ey, such a deluded bunch making out like it was a smash n grab. They had the possession but if you look at XG we were much better than them and got in better positions attacking wise. As mentioned on the OV we sat off because we probably didn't have the energy to really press yet still came away with the points. They got spanked by Palace 3-0 the other day which is a game I missed but by watching spurs in the flesh that result really isn't a shock.

Yeah, 629 passes, 90 per cent of them sideways. The OV was sadly short of the usual self-delusional vitriol, perhaps the cockerels have come home to roost and they are starting to realise that whoever the "Big Six" are, they're not in it.

What a world – where a team doesn't score despite 600+ passes, and doesn't muster a shot on target after going behind, but it's embarrassing for the opposition.
xG was 1.5 v 0.6 – that is to say, statistically we created twice as much of a goal threat as them. And, in the real world, we scored and they didn't.

From the OV:"

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur: match thread
The way they set up, I think they came for a point. Shows how far we’ve come.
Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur: match thread
People, rightly, praise Rice and Soucek for the defensive work they did in stopping the Spurs attack yet it was Benrahma and Fornals fault we did not do more going forward?
Credit should be given to both Hojbjerg and Skipp for the work they did stopping them. Possible the one defensive mistake any of the four really made (Skipp missing the header) lead to the only goal of the game. Defences were on top because the four central midfielders all had very good games when it came to nullifying the opposition threat.
