Re: Takeover talk
Purely based on gut instinct and various reports from the Czech press. Logical path ahead to gain overall control from the 27% he has, having control at Sparta Prague, the likelihood of gaining full operation of the stadium......

Re: Takeover talk
I’m not sure there’s much disrespect shown to the Czech league over here. The Scottish Premier League, definitely.CzechHam wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 11:29 am
It's also important to realize what it means to win that title (which fans were routinely used to) and qualify for Champions League in the competition you so often like to dismiss as a farmers league. Sure, a lot of teams in Czech league suck, but then, of course, you have to beat, say, Slavia, who had little trouble knocking Leicester out of the Europa League, or Sevilla a year earlier, keep a clean sheet at the Camp Nou when Barcelona were still worth something, or score three goals at Stamford Bridge.
But if you fail to finish ahead of such a team, you can forget about the title and the Champions League even in your "farmers league" and your fans get angry.

What does this achieve for his father? I ask completely naively, cos it must be more than just "this'll be nice for the lad." There's always an angle...Up the Junction wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 1:48 pm Second Sullivan son named as director

Re: Takeover talk
Would it also mean he could attend games if there was a lockdown again? Say, if our overlord had heard something from the Baroness

Re: Takeover talk
Should't do really - the divvy up will be based on shareholding not seats on the board. It's just giving them a bit of status while he can still dish it out.Eggs'n'nuts wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:02 pm It's got to do with the divvy up when he finally sells, surely.

Re: Takeover talk
He could have done that by just being appointed a director off the football club - at the same time he's also been appointed a director of the holding company where the actual ownership shares are.

Confirmation statement filed at Companies House. Only change is the John and Daniel Harris shares are now all under Daniel Harris and 1890S Holding A.S. has the 688 new shares issued.Wembley1966 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 1:29 pm We will know the share structure fairly soon as the annual Confirmation Statement of shareholders is due for filing at Companies House in the next few days - and the revised Articles of Association within a few weeks which will detail the share structure and any special rights that Kretinsky has in terms of acquisition of shares from existing shareholders.

Re: Takeover talk
^^^ Yes they do. You're probably counting the shares that have been transferred and their current holding is now 0.

Re: Takeover talk
What do these directorships even mean, practically, who decides if there happens to be one more director, and to what extent do they reflect control/leverage?

Re: Takeover talk
^^^ It's all to do with who has control (or not) in the boardroom - where it is 1 vote per director.
As part of the negotiations on buying into the Club, Kretinsky will have wanted to appoint directors to the board. To stop him having too much control, then Sullivan and Gold would then have the option of appointing additional directors.
There will be all sorts of amendments in the Articles of Association about what constitutes a quorum for board meetings, who can nominate a proxy for voting and what sort of veto's certain directors may have. These should all be published in the next few weeks.
