Re: OGS gone
Comes across as ' Too Nice ' to be a Football Manager - he gave them that much needed impetus when he first arrived but footballers are like children , they need firm guidance , that Big Brother approach will only get you so far , shame coz he seems a decent sorta guy .

Re: OGS gone
A poor coach, with an even poorer coaching staff and an even poorer captain.
But, to wait to 'sack' him until after Spurs have appointed Conte is the poorest decision of the lot.

Re: OGS gone
The guy was totally out of his depth and it was squirm inducing watching his post match interviews
I can’t imagine the players listening to him in the dressing room, he was tactically clueless.
Crazy they waited until after Conte had gone to Spurs before they sacked him
Also probably cost the club £25m by hanging on to Lingard for another season and not playing him
Giving DVB such little game time was also bizarre
The list goes on
There is such a big sense of entitlement about Man U that anything less than a trophy every year is seen as a catastrophe. It’s a graveyard for managers.Fortunately Moyes lived to fight another day

Yep!
I can't believe he lasted as long as he did. Had a knack of getting a run going when under pressure but ran out of 'luck'(?) . Reckon he owes Mark Noble for the last few weeks in the job.

Re: OGS gone
He was the worst manager in the league by some distance, a manager that no other Premier league chairman would ever consider hiring, yet somehow he ended up at one of the biggest clubs in the world, just because he scored a Champions League winning goal for the club.
It matters not, who they appoint next, with the type of people they have at the club making the important decisions still in place, those who think money alone is the answer, they will continue to throw hundreds of millions of pounds at the problem, hoping that somehow it'll solve the many issues that need fixing, and so they will continue on this current downward trajectory.
Finding a competent manager, is the least of their worries, they've had plenty, Moyes, Van Gaal, and Mourinho, yet the one constant remains in place.. sack the manager? They need to sack the board..

How he lasted that long I’ll never know. I think the most telling thing is what other Premier League club could you see ever offering him a job?

Re: OGS gone
Leicester concede far too many goals for Rodgers to be a sensible appointment for Man United.
Both Man United AND Leicester are very poor defensively this season. And both teams were run ragged defensively yesterday.
They have both conceded 21 league goals to date. That's more than 2/3 of the promoted clubs and as many as the top three combined!!
Re: OGS gone
Yeah I saw that. The article said Frank Lampard would be a candidate which provided a smile to my morning.

Re: OGS gone
The statistic that really brings home the plight of OGS and Man Utd is that since September, Norwich have won more Premier League games

Re: OGS gone
Wracking my brains to think who could come in to that job. First and foremost they need to manage some big characters and organise them.
Personally I don’t think Rodgers has a big enough rep to manage Pogba, Ronaldo et al.
They may return, perhaps temporarily, to Man Utd alumni - Lauren Blanc with Roy Keane as his #2?

Re: OGS gone
Looked like a teenager when he got the job now looks like a beaten weary old man. Never recruit “club legends” as managers it rarely ends well. I wonder if he will get another job in this league? i doubt it.
