Oddly enough, I feel more confident of this game than Brighton. Hopefully we can spring a surprise here, with some underperformers finding form once more.
A cheeky 2-1 with an Antonio goal perhaps?

This encouraging info (below) has today been posted on a newspaper's 'Looking Forward to the Weekend' thread:
Cannot even begin to predict our lineup this weekend. With Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante, Chilwell, James, Werner and now Chalobah out, we are suddenly surprisingly light in (defensive) midfield. Loftus-Cheek is fit but naturally more attacking, and West Ham are very very good. Could have used that Rice kid who used to be in our academy right about now, huh?!

I've really liked the way Moyes has set up against the so called big boys this season, but I think a pragmatic approach should be the way forward for this match.
I'd start Vlasic and Lanzini and smother the midfield, then bring on Benrhama and Mickey second half and have a real go at it.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Chelsea: match thread
Most of their goal threat comes from the wingbacks and they might be without their two best options there, although Alonso isn’t a bad replacement on the left.
They don’t let in many though so probably not ideal we’ve lost a bit of goal scoring zip ourselves lately.
Lukaku usually has a ball against us but hopefully he’s not fully up to speed fitness-wise. He’s certainly not up to speed Chelsea-wise - looks so disjointed within that set up.

Kinnell. How on earth did they pick up all those injuries ?I'm going for a 2-0 Irons win, then

I think Jorginho, James and Werner could all be back. They were reportedly back in training prior to the midweek game, but not risked. The Belgian Glenn Murray is also on his way back from an injury, so guaranteed his usual goal against us.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:22 am This encouraging info (below) has today been posted on a newspaper's 'Looking Forward to the Weekend' thread:

Still, might not be the worst time to play them considering. Chilwell in particular seemed to be in the form of a lifetime.

a routine 3-0 win for Chelsea, which will mean us finally dropping out of the top 4 after picking up just 4 points from the past 15 available

That's the spirit Kent
Usually as the game draws closer against one of the "super-duper" teams the confidence drains from me, but I'm going the other way on this game, I prefer it, I'm all warm and fuzzy. I will leave the miserable for the train journey home

Hope everyone has put a stack on Lukaku first goal tomorrow.
Christmas paid for. That bet has pretty much bought me a house over the years.

Nah, that's all history now we've signed Zouma.
Lukaku won't be getting so much as a shot on target tomorrow.

Sadly that’s what I think the result will be. I think this will game will be the equivalent of our drab performance in the home game against Liverpool last season.kenthammer1984 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 10:09 am a routine 3-0 win for Chelsea, which will mean us finally dropping out of the top 4 after picking up just 4 points from the past 15 available

No need worry about Werner. He as shocking in front of goal as BowenStevePottsGoalsReel wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:54 am I think Jorginho, James and Werner could all be back. Yes, he shocked me too, holding off 4 Liverpool players, recently, before finding a team-mate for a sensational goal.Puff Daddy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 10:53 am No need worry about Werner. He as shocking in front of goal as Bowen
