Re: Cricket English Summer 2021
wasnt worth staying up for was it ??
still ive backed the aussies to win 4-0
cummins/smith as man of the match 1st test
cummins top wicket taker of the series
so its not too bad on that front i suppose

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021
The question was: How many times can you go down under with a pace attack of 4 right arm 85 mph seamers and get battered?
Given we had no Joffra, or Stone, I'm of the view we had to try something different. Yes Wood, but that is all your eggs in one basket.
Robinson did well in the summer, Woakes would open the bowling at home were in not for Sir Jimmy and Broad. They will take wickets.
Leach proved effecive in India and offers a completely different option.

You are quite correct and I hope my lack of faith in Jack is rubbed in my face. I’ll be up later hoping they all have blinders.Bend it like Repka wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 5:52 pm The question was: How many times can you go down under with a pace attack of 4 right arm 85 mph seamers and get battered?

I just want Leach to get Smith, and celebrate right in his face. Maybe clean his glasses in front of him....

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021
A couple of early wickets and you never know. Let’s be honest about a couple of things. Firstly, the Australia bowling attack are generational talents and could blast through any top order in the world. Secondly, the rest of this Australia side is either bang average or top players like Smith and Warner but not in great form. Get them 20/2 and all the doubts from their India series defeat will come flooding back.
Worse case scenario, limit the first innings deficit to 100 or under and we’re in the game.

Time for Wood, Woakes and Robinson to step up. We have to at least get Warner and Smith out cheaply to make them think a bit...

Just this match and 4 more to go.

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021
Beautiful first over from Robinson. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
Clear blue skies, making the choice to bat look rather silly right now. We will need to bowl out of our skins.

It's going to be one of those days where we keep beating the edge and not getting the nicks isn't it?

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021 + Ashes
Considering how little preparation our bowlers have had, this is an impressive start. We really need to bag at least one more in the next 2-3 overs. Got to have Smith out there with a hard ball and fresh bowlers.

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021 + Ashes
You have to wonder what Broad would have done on this pitch against these left handers... just feels wrong not playing him. Playing Woakes make out batting (on paper) stronger.. but where did that get us?
