If I was Moyes, I'd be pleased to see this one up next on the fixture list with possibly six senior defenders ruled out.

Re: West Ham United v Norwich City : match thread
It really isn't. Hate reading this type of thing.
Jesus we are 17 games in and sit 5th. Only a short while back most had their maps out looking where half the Championship grounds were.
5th in the league, League Cup QF, Europa League last 16.
Wins over Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Leicester Chelsea in the league. Man United & Man City in the Cup.
Has been and still is a fantastic season directly after another fantastic season.

First time in a long while that almost half the team won't be sure of it's place.
Fab, Diop, Les, Declan, Tomas, Bowen ...... the rest?
Arfur probably plays.
Almost getting to the point where Noble gets a game.

If we win, we possibly go back into the top 4.brothernero wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:30 pm It really isn't. Hate reading this type of thing.

If we draw, we have stalled further, leaving the teams below us easy jobs to go above us, with their own matches, especially Spurs, who have as I type three matches in hand over us.
If we lose, to an already half-doomed club, who leak goals to the tune of a -26 g/d before halfway house, we are stumbling into territory of a nosedive variety, the CFC and LFC matches the spike in form that is otherwise doomed to finish 9th or 10th.
So, sorry, but I think it is vital we win, by any means at our disposal, frankly.

Well said. However, why let it all come to nothing? January re-inforcements are a must.brothernero wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:30 pm It really isn't. Hate reading this type of thing.

They have ten out apparently.
Cresswell's fitness is probably pretty critical for this one in determining how we set up and play.

Antonio out the squad completely. Not even at the ground. Noble alongside Rice with Soucek on the bench, if for nothing else, for that dive he did tonight. Ashby at RB. Vlasic in for Antonio as a false nine.
MoM Ashby, goals from Bowen, Vlasic and Okoflex late on.
3-2 West Ham.

Fabianski
Ashby Dawson Diop Cresswell*
Kral Rice
Fornals Benrahma Vlasic
Bowen
A few changes. Time to give some rests and try to get some of the players low on confidence a bit of confidence back.

Re: West Ham United v Norwich City : match thread
I'd leave Rice out tbh.
If he gets booked misses the spurs game.

I just can’t bring myself to leave Rice out of any starting XI!

I could not care less about top 4. There will in my eyes never be a must win game for West Ham just 18 games into the season when we are sitting 5th.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:36 pm If we win, we possibly go back into the top 4.

Just enjoy the ride and be happy that for a second season in a row we are not trying to cling onto the hope that there will be 3 teams worse than us come the end.
We are 5th. I'm ****ing loving it. Still in both cups and still in Europe.

He won't, he'll miss the next PL game. Only red card suspensions carry over cross-competition so far as I'm aware.El brooko79 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:54 pm I'd leave Rice out tbh.

Playing devil's advocate maybe ideal game for Antonio to play and score and get some confidence back
He did bag 4 last time we played them after all!
A goal will do him the world of good
I would drop Soucek. We don't need him and Rice for this game.

If no risk to Rice getting booked then give Soucek a rest
