Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham Utd: match thread
This will be tough, but if we bring our 'A' game, we can get a result there
Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham Utd: match thread
If there is not a suspension to the season announced tomorrow Moyes and the club should play the Covid in the camp card and get it postponed at all costs.
There 2 week break will make them far more energetic than us.

We might, but if we're on our 'A' game, it will be close. Something like a 3-2

Lets phone in a covid break, don't fancy playing them while they've had a nice rest and our players look shattered.

Players incentivised to play for their place in the club with the looming transfer window.
By contrast, most of our players could feel they are almost guaranteed starters with not much transfer activity expected - especially with the current injuries.
Lanzini maybe pushing for a starting xi place and Yarmolenko maybe to stay at the club.
I'm not implying our lot are complacent. Just highlighting the extra motivation that Spurs might have: impressing a new coach looking to shake things up in the transfer market

Moyes will have the team fired up for this . He wasnt impressed by our performance at Arsenal and its very rare that we will underperform in ba k to back games .
I would actually go as far to say that based on recent results against these, they'll be worried about us. They'll come out the blocks but if we keep them at bay for 20 mins or so, I'm sure we will then put them on the back foot.
This game is more important for them than us which is why I'm more than confident.

Weren’t we 3-0 down in the first 20 mins last time we played them at theirs?Believer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 9:57 pm Moyes will have the team fired up for this . He wasnt impressed by our performance at Arsenal and its very rare that we will underperform in ba k to back games .

Ridiculous attitude. Ridiculous to think it would work.
They have also just played today whilst we had a week to prepare.
If any of our players or coaching staff are thinking like that then we will certainly lose.

What are we basing this sudden definite defeat on? Spurs draw 2-2 home v Liverpool and we lost 2-0 to Arsenal away? We have had a blip granted, but we are still one of the better teams in the Premier league, our away form has been excellent in general, our cup performances even with weaker starting 11's has been the same, and also throw in our players always seem fired up v them. Can't wait myself!

Agreed. Went through game by game PL fixtures since November 1 and we have pretty much accrued exactly what I would expect, albeit instead of beating Burnley/Brighton we beat Liverpool/Chelsea (in pulsating 3-2 victories too so probably better than the expected path of getting the points we have got in those games!)Southminster Hammer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 10:38 pm What are we basing this sudden definite defeat on? We looked motivated enough when we played Liverpool at home though? Losing an entire defence might be our bigger problem!Crossd_Hammrs wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 9:48 pm Players incentivised to play for their place in the club with the looming transfer window.

Plus today was the first time Spurs have looked anything like decent under Conte - and yet still relied on terrible refereeing to get anything from the game.

I do fear for us in this game.
On the other hand, we're massive and it's Spurs so frankly anything can happen.
