Euro WC Playoffs

Post by Jonah »

One of Italy/Portugal and one of Scotland/Wales won't be going.

Portugal v Turkey
Italy v North Macedonia
Sweden v Czech Republic
Russia v Poland
Wales v Austria
Scotland v Ukraine

Potentially some great Playoff 'Final' games though :

Final draw

Wales or Austria v Scotland or Ukraine

Russia v Poland v Sweden or Czech Republic

Portugal or Turkey v Italy or North Macedonia

They didn’t warm the balls enough. They won’t be happy at least one of Portugal and Italy to be absent from Qatar.

That dumb arse conspiracy theory is a perfect example of confirmation bias.

Draw should be good, Wales v Scotland and Portugal v Italy potential finals could be bangers. Our eyes will also be on the Czechs. Unlucky to North Macedonia for getting this far, then getting the most difficult possible draw...

It was also a joke...but nevermind. That the fact remains the money men will be unhappy that that outcome (though as you said it makes a potential 'final' very watchable)

Ha sorry, I did think you were joking, but I also know a lot of people really believe in it, I've seen some really detailed "proof" of how they do it- obviously all the times the ties go against the big sides, like this one, get ignored.

I think Wales can do it as long as Kieffer isn't booked against Austria, booked for being 6ft 5, booked for jumping, booked for being fouled, whatever it is he seems to get booked just for being on the pitch, god help him when he actually makes a challenge for the ball out of frustration. Wales ended the group impressively and the emergence of Neco Williams in the last two games as a swashbuckling attacking full back is a positive sign.
