You're talking about Phillipe Courtinhio???umweb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:02 amthat's great news.
glad he's not coming here. wasteful overpaid player who has struggled at every club he's been to. the last thing we need is him shooting over the bar from distance 10 times a match.
he looks good on match of the day, but it is no surprise that he struggles to start at most clubs once he is found out.

Not a huge fan of Trippier but he’s a pretty sensible signing for Newcastle. I was hoping they’d go down this season but they’re only a couple of signings away from being safe, with Norwich, Watford & Burnley (they’re due a relegation) to go.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Nope, he looked fine, a player thats been ruined by pictures of him gurning and the modern football fan way.
Has a massive air of Craig Dawson about him, think he would come hungry with something to prove, you don't get 27 caps for England and play 200 times for Manchester United if you are ****, had a horrid couple of years with injury and would be a superb signing in our current predicament

Unfortunately it's going to be really difficult to sign players that are at the Afcon.bubbles1966 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:22 amhttps://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Article ... is/1308907

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
It's whether Howe can put it all together, to me it looks like there is no heart and drive in the players, he might get lucky where he brings some leaders in that change it but at the moment they look shocking.HammerAl wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:29 amNot a huge fan of Trippier but he’s a pretty sensible signing for Newcastle. You might be right that they survive, but more likely IMHO that it's because the others around them are shocking and Newcastle start getting draws rather than losses.
Howe in my view isn't the manager they needed.

Man United have not been able to defend for years, why anyone thinking that Phil Jones, who cant get into that defense is the answer is beyond me.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Key for Newcastle was a solid, fairly big-name signing early, now more players will join the project, especially if they can get a win or two in their next couple of games. If they hadn't got anyone until the end of the window, Moyes style, they might have struggled, now I think they will pick up 2 or 3 more. Sadly I think they will stay up.HammerAl wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:29 amNot a huge fan of Trippier but he’s a pretty sensible signing for Newcastle. He is a very good no frills defender.
He is just been chronicley injured.
If we could guarantee 30 games a season would be a great signing for us.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Precisely that.
Jones is a decent payer, bighted by injury, and for that reason it would be too high risk given the circumstances

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
L’equipe have also linked us with Axel Zagadou. Think that’s a new player to be linked to (scattergun building up).
Know nothing about him other than he’s a left sided centre back.
Got to be worth a bid based on the name alone though….
Can’t imagine what his song would be….

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Well we'd still need him in and around the team if on loan.
But I'm tempted to agree with you, for a loan, if he is currently fit.
I like him and his funny faces, just need to stop him tripping over our carpet

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
No links anywhere for Hlozek?
Would seem like a decent, low risk punt...could probably do a loan to buy etc
Then I would be right behind Origi.
That would seem to cover the striker issue pretty well, I'd say.
Not sure Lingard would be necessary then and the rest could be concentrated on the defence...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
It’s likely £38k p/w wage topped up with signing on fee of £32k p/w over the length of his initial contract. If he were to sign a new contract with us, negotiations would have to start at £38k.El brooko79 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 3:25 pmThis says Fredericks is on £38k. I read elsewhere it was £40k.
He was also free

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
So the wait goes on and more days wasted by not bringing in flesh blood.
There does seem to be a change though, as the owners have learnt to keep their big mouths shut, which has always hindered our negotiations whether its giving a list, which doesn't give the targets confidence, especially if they are a second choice or having a "budget" so the selling club knows they can put their price up. So the more quiet the better for me.
However, we still are very unprofessional in not having players lined up already. What have the club been doing since the Summer window closed? There should be a process that targets are identified and plans put in throughout the closed period. That's when the hard work should be done. Then we can act within the first week of the open window and get players in, ready, fit, get used to the tactics etc and can play straight away.
We all have known since the Sunmer that we need at least two strikers and a left back. They should be in NOW. With the centre back situation we have known since Oggy was ruled out for the season, so more than enough time.
But hey ho, let us play the games in Jan, risking more injuries and potentially losing games because we are still unprofessional to act.
Then get them in at the end of Jan, when they will need a month to get to grips with the tactics and get match fit and any other excuses they need...
Sooner we get rid of the current regime, especially Ms Brady, who has been below poor in any assessment, the better.

He hasn’t been available. It is not like he has been in the match day squads and not picked.Upminster Hammer wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:34 amMan United have not been able to defend for years, why anyone thinking that Phil Jones, who cant get into that defense is the answer is beyond me.
If he is over the worst of his injuries then he’d be a decent signing. I just think that is a big if.
Same with Coutinho. No lack of ability, just massive fitness concerns.
