Anyone know what Ex’s job at the club was?
I think it was something to do with catering if I recall. But years and years ago.

Im more favourable on him than my little podcast kids and think his numbers are impressive in an awful side. Think the passing thing can be improved.

Not even a tiny possibility that he’s being made to hang on until after we play manure? Absolutely, definitely not?

Don’t think we’ve been linked but surprised we haven’t - Sardar Azmoun allegedly available for £5m. 52 goals in 68 starts in Russia over last four seasons. Wonder if we’ve looked as a squad option.

In what way?

I think there is an awful lot of conjecture but very little in the way of hard facts around Lingard.

Moyes is on record as stating that OGS did not want to sell Lingard last Summer. If you believe what Moyes says then it was Man Utd that blocked a move, which is their prerogative.

Fast forward to Jan 2022 and Lingard is still under contract at Man Utd and as far as I am aware he has kept his powder dry re his future intentions. He has put up a pic on Instagram which some may rightly conclude is a come and get me to WHU. However, that is probably about as far as Lingard would want to take things given that he has been at Man Utd for 20 years.

Now out of favour at Man Utd I think it is highly likely he would accept a move to us. The issue is not Lingard it is Man Utd. I am hopeful Man Utd will take 10mil for Jesse but they could just as easily refuse to sell to a direct rival. It may end up in a stand off between Lingard and Man Utd - he wants to come to us and they want to flog him to Newcastle. That is why I think this might go right to the end of Jan.

I don’t at all get why Lingard would wait to sign until after we play Man Utd. Surely a Snodgrass style handshake will simply apply?

Those 'handshakes' are not allowed, though he could just have a 'niggle'

And why would man utd risk it, they can just tell us to wait

Regarding Digne wages, if we aspire to be top four we have to pay top four wages for the best players. I doubt if many of Chelsea or Citeh players are on less than £100k and Liverpool & Arsenal probably close to 50%? We have Yarmoleko (but shouldn't) and Zouma. Adding 2 or 3 to that as long as they are decent would show ambition not wrecklessness (Rice should certainly be one). It would of course change the whole team pay structure but what's the alternative if we want to continually compete at the top level? Providing we can achieve Europa or gain CL again, it is our only option to attract top class players and stay there. To stay a top club requires top investment. Not saying that every signing should be a £100k, just if and when needed aka Zouma and to think we can continually repeat our great recent achievements on a mediocre budget is delusional. So there is a financial direction decision to be made at some point in the future, do we go for it or don't we? I'm not saying I'm for it or against it, I just think it's a logical choice.

Unless we shop abroad our most likely bet for centre halves is James Tarkowski for a low(ish) fee, or Nat Phillips on loan. If what Ex says is true and Moyes has Lloyd Kelly as his main target for the left sided defender then we won’t be able to get him until at least the summer when Bournemouth will know their fate. If they don’t go up we’ll especially have a strong chance. But, if Transfermarkt are correct, I noticed once this season is up he only has 2 years left on his contract. So unless he signs a new one Bournemouth may have to bite the bullet in the next couple of windows.

I see Kelly’s agency is ICM Stellar. That isn’t the agency David Moyes’ son works for by any chance is it?

I thought Moyes’ son had just joined our recruitment team - this looks a more likely son of Moyes profile anyway, the name and starting at PNE https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-moyes-jnr

I think it more likely the Agent, who is looking to secure his last main payday on his player.

Spent some time scann8ng Burnley forum after their cup exit.

They are expecting to sell Tarkowski to Newcastle and get Phillips to replace him. £15m both ways. They also expect to get Origi.

Other: they fielded two players aged 29, and nine players over 30 yesterday. They must have some u23 setup!

👍

He was in charge of finding all the microwaves at the Boleyn and getting them ready for auction....!
