Huge difference between Kay Burley and Boris.

Boris broke the rules while the nation was in a full lock down, a full lock down that he ordered and was telling everyone to follow. He was making the rules then breaking then and lying to every single one of you. While you couldn't see love ones, while you couldn't see firends, while you was being told to stay at home to protect the NHS they was having a party and laughing at you.

Kay Burley broke tier 2 rules still wrong and should have known better. But she wasn't making the rules and then breaking them so widely.

I guess that will be the Tory attack line to defend Boris and his actions, because Boris and the Torys are PrOpEr WoRkInG ClAsS and gets the common man.

It does make me angry the whole situation of how they could lie to the population and take everyone for mugs.

End of day though no matter what they do people will forget about it in a few months.

they will still either get back in or cause enough of a problem

nothing will change

the whole situation stinks

covid has shown the worst side of this countries government. it shows those in power cant be trusted to act on the best interest of us the voter / tax payer

even if we want to vote them out (like people always say we can just vote them out) we cant there are ways around everything. boris loses his seat.. he just gets put up in a tory stronghold... remains MP..

people vote for decent people who run at local levels... as many people say doesnt get reflected at the top levels so people vote blue to keep their decent MP and get scum at the top

that said how do the people of romford still vote in that idiot rossendale ... get idiots at the top.. bottom and middle level

Laughing and joking and partying and lying whilst people up and down the country were not allow to see dying relatives or attend their funerals.

If this does not bring down this corrupt government then our system is truly lost.

My mum went to hospital two weeks ago today. I visited her and was the only family member allowed to visit her.

Then visits were cancelled before new years eve.

Sunday just gone we were told my mum is having seizures and told to expect the worst. Mum is a fighter and hanging on.

My brothers and myself still cannot visit.

I'm sure Boris can find something funny out of his parties but I don't.

Thanks OFT

We totally understand why the rules are there. The safety of patients is paramount and also having doctors an nurses off is not good.

But he needs to go, we have all followed the rules. He is the leader who told us to.

The usual twitter bots are out blaming the media, storm in a tea cup, we should look forward (despite constantly banging on about Brown spending all the money over a decade ago) etc.

Even thinking about holding such an event at that time was just completely tone deaf and smacks of them thinking they were working harder than anyone else at the time.

Johnson, Symonds etc...all completely clueless.

In my opinion he has to go as he is the democratically elected leader.

I was a tory voter but this goes further than party politics. If his MPs decide to allow him to stay they'll probably lose their jobs at next election.

My MP is using his time asking for the National Anthem to be played on the BBC every night. Hopefully he'll finally be ousted or the Tories get in someone who's not a complete jingoistic xenophobic cretin.

What’s wrong with the National Anthem being played? Why is that jingoistic and xenophobic?

Nobody said that there was anything wrong with the national anthem being played. Nobody said it was jingoistic or xenophobic.

Andrew can play it on an infinite loop in his house, draped in a Union Flag whilst tugging himself off if he wants. It is just a waste of time to raise that in parliament when there are lots of important things to be done.

Because that's what he thinks is important rather than energy prices, Covid, the food banks in his constituency etc.

I like the National Anthem but when I get chance to raise issues affecting my team at work I don't use the time to suggest it's broadcast over their laptops every day...

You only have to take a brief look at his antics and comments in the last 5 years alone so why I called him that.

Bit difficult to raise the issue of food banks etc when when MPs were asking questions to ministers from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) tbf, surprised there were any backbenchers in the house to ask any questions when the bars were open

I suppose it's because it's a pretty rare thing that they ask the population to put their lives on hold. At no point in my life did I ever expect to not be able to go to my Nan's funeral, or to not be able to celebrate my 40th birthday, or for my kids to not be able to go to school, or even for me just to not be able to have a pint with a mate. But we were asked to do those things and were told that these were sacrifices we were all making.

I'm probably a massive mug, but I genuinely thought that the government would be doing similar. Or perhaps not doing similar, but I at least expected them not be out throwing parties to be honest. As I say - what a mug.
