Masuaku for both. If Liverpool had picked him up in 2016, I think he might have gone on to be a truly remarkable player. The difficulty for us is we still often try to stick him in as an orthodox left back, which simply doesn’t work. And Moyes is not the only one. Bilic tried it in lieu of Cresswell, and when Pelly’s team was settling in 2019, Masuaku was at LB.

A stronger team, which allows him play progressive football would render him almost unstoppable.

I'm still reeling from someone saying Antonio is league 2 level

One or the best forwards in the league for 2 years straight, league 2 level?!

If physicality was enough to make it in this league Akinfenwa would have played his entire career at the top.

Underrated - Benrahma. His numbers are decent, though it sometimes gets said they aren't or need improving. His defensive contribution has improved, though still gets called out for not tracking back, and while I can accept his decision making can be wrong, his ability to bring the ball forward and scare defences is massively important. Against Burnley, he looked the most likely to create something, got taken off when we were on top and then went backwards for the next 10-15 minutes.

Overrated - Youth as said. Ashby for example. Ashby's performance against Tottenham was just about ok, just. Yet he was being named in squads ahead of senior players and was even said to be better than Johnson. It does get annoying to see Hammerman drop 4/5 senior players for all our U23's based on very little.

Under-rated: Cresswell and Ogbonna (and generally having players who can pass the ball in defence)

Over-rated: Johnson, Benrahma

Underrrated - Fornals

Overrated - Benrahma for me, I still rate him but don't understand why people would choose him over Fornals or Bowen given the choice.

Underrated
Fabianski - People will not realise how good he is until he leaves.
Lanzini - Gives the team fluidity. Would be even more influential if playing deeper.
Rice - Even more influential than people realise.

Overrated
Moyes - The same manager as at Man Utd, Sunderland, Real Sociedad but lucky that world circumstances suited him. Still freezes when big decisions required. Will be found out.
Coufal and Soucek - Upgrade ASAP.
Current academy kids including Johnson- Imo, none will be PL players on a regular basis.

Another anonymous friend you've made. Good day.
Come on. Let's have a real football opinion of your own and not a post for the masses.

I remember that Reo Coker was highly overrated in the Championship years to such effect that Pardew was apparently happy with him being the only real Midfielder on the books to take us into the Prem.

Underrated form the past
Lazaridis - More confidence and he'd have been a star.
Bilic - Should never have left. Would have been a legend. More influential in his one season that Rio Ferdinand was for us.
Costa - Has attributes to be a decent CH but poor attitude.
Berkovic- Great llayer never got the ceeitvhe deserved. King of the 10 - 15 yard defence splitting pass.
Kitson- Great pace and should have done more.

100% correct.

There were foot and mouth outbreaks in 2001 & 2007 and a swine flu pandemic in 2009. During these times Moyes was having very successful spells at Preston and then Everton. Conversely in Seville 2014 there was very little in the way of infection and aside from the usual STD’s Sunderland had low rates of any infection in 2016.

I personally don’t believe in coincidence and there is certainly clear correlation between certain outbreaks and Moyes ability to coach football 👍

Marc Rieper was an excellent centre half.

When a pandemic chamges the whole nature of the sport, some prosper some don't.

Moyes is the same manager as at Man Utd and Sunderland, but not the same manager as at Everton...

Upgrade on Coufal and Soucek ASAP

It's not even subtle man. Take a few days off, try to think of some subtle bait. Maybe something believable?

Upgrade Coufal ASAP, I'm still laughing.

Everton was a long time ago. The other jobs are more relevant.
Coufal has been poor this season. One season wonder. Schemmel MK II.

I’m with you mate.

I haven’t looked into this in great depth but I wouldn’t mind betting that during the swine flu pandemic of 2009 Everton’s results picked up during a spike in merseyside cases. My memory is hazy but I recall Daniel Amokachi getting a brace in a 5-1 victory over Swindon during one such spike.

Obviously it's all opinions but some of your responses are shocking!

Overrated? Antonio. I don't dislike the guy but the commentary teams/media make out like he's some beast every game. He has to touch of a donkey most of the time, can't sell a foul for toffee, can't shoot consistently nor can he pass very well and his decision making ability affects both of those. But when he's on fire he is on fire.

Underrated? Bowen. We all know how good he can be, but how on earth is Southgate overlooking him? Brings in Gallagher and Smith-Rowe after a couple of games (I'm not saying they're bad) but Bowen who is one of the best wingers in the league statistically doesn't get a look in.
