Dušan Vlahović
Age 21
6ft 3in

43 goals in 96 games for Fiorentina - Currently their number 9, playing in the same system we play
18 goals in 22 games this season
7 goals for Serbia in 14 games

18 months remaining on his current contract

Sadly the valuation of him is north of 60m and Arsenal seem to be very keen.

True, but I can't help but feel that it's not just Sullivan driving those decisions, especially now. I think we might well have paid upfront for Kral in the summer had we moved before the Euros, but I also think that the loan-to-buy style deal is good for us and players as well, and Moyes clearly doesn't mind it too much even if it's not his preferred method.

Free run at Hickey.

We are the biggest club that has a need at Left Back. Hickey is good enough to play already but young enough to be able to bed in and learn how to play within Moyes' system. Cresswell should be good for the rest of this season and hopefully another year or so beyond, but it presents the ideal opportunity for Hickey to play games for us without having the immediate pressure of being the one and only option at Left Back.

.
But in fairness how many of our players would get a Liverpool start? 2 maybe 3? I'd go as far as to say many wouldn't even make their bench.

Haven't watched Bologna play for years, are the crossing stats of 0.1 a result of style of play or is he just terrible at it?

A back playing for Moyes have to be good at crossing

The recovery pace alone is worth a few bob.
At least 6 of those once great tackles would have been red carded and/or given as penalties after VAR intervention.

(FWIW, I think Danny meant that Moyes would be interested in Broja, by virtue of him being a good player who fits what we're looking for. I doubt he has any further inside info).
A guy from TalkSport shared a video of Broja and Gabbidon replied "Moyes likes him", someone else tweeted asking if Chelsea will sell Broja in the summer, Gabbidon replied "West Ham."

Weird thing to do regardless of if he knows something.

We'd never spend that much on a single player, and we'd never get a player ahead of Arsenal if they wanted him.

It's a shame, as he looks like he'd work well in the system we play, and he also looks like he'll fit in great at Arsenal and really get them firing.

I can't see us keeping up with them in the mediu to long term given the youth players they've brought through and the money they are spending.

Broja is a tough one to call.

Chelsea youth product (they pinched him from Spurs) so they have had a good look at him. He did OK in the Dutch league, has shown positive signs for Southampton... Is he really going to develop into a 'best striker in the world' type of player? Compared to what some others are doing aged 20, I'd say not, so there may be a case for Chelsea being cut throat and just cashing in on him now while they can.

Whoever suggested 30m a few posts ago is insane, he won't cost anywhere near that. He has played 16 games for Southampton and scored just 5 goals.

It's not only Arsenal that are interested, they are just trying to get ahead of the big boys who will be interested in the summer

Signed a new deal with Chelsea before going on loan.

If he hits another 5/6 goals then I reckon they'll want well over £30m or happily send him out on loan for another year.

Chelsea signed him to a 5 year deal before he went to Southampton, only way we are getting him is on loan, unless we pay through the nose

Wouldn't be surprised to see Chelsea deal with Broja in the way they did with Lukaku, to be honest. Bigger/higher profile loan next season, if successful sell him on.

Broja, wanted him since I first saw him play for Southampton, could see his class and potential immediately.

But as others have said, no chance. Chelsea won't sell him for any less than 20-30m, if at all. If Moyes things he's the one then he's worth that and will certainly be worth a lot more than that eventually.

As for Hickey, Bologna don't cross a lot like English teams do, so no, his crossing stats will be low.

Loan with a set option would be nice. See if he fits us and if so then we can spend big on him.

5 goals so far this season but he did start off as an impact sub. 5 goals in 8 starts is probably a stronger metric. He's only started against Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham and not scored.

I am surprised he hasn't scored more but his all round play in general seems very good, he's won them a few games without actually scoring himself.

He'll still cost north of £20m in the summer even if he doesn't pick up much on the scoring front.

Toney or Borja would be great signings in the summer.
Yup.

As I often say you’re only as good as the team around you and Brentford are the epitome of an inconsistent, scrappy, but having-a-right-go-at-it, newly promoted side. I think they’re having a decent season with no real damage to Toney’s rep.

He’d be good in our team with our manager.

I bet they will. He's not going to make it with them realistically as they're looking for the best of the best. They'll sell him like they did Lukaku, and hopefully go to regret it like they did Salah and De Bruyne.

An Andy Carroll that stays fit?

Sounds good to me. :newthumb:
