A great result to get us back in the top 4
6-0 would not have flattered us and if ever a performance deserved a hat trick it was Bowen’s. He was here, there and everfuckingwhere tonight. In a rich vein of form is young Jarrod.

Bloody hell, watching the keeper taking Vlasic down in the first half. How the hell was that not a penalty?

Good performance....
Couple of negatives:
1. We really need to start finishing teams off a little better when we're dominating like that. We don't make it easy for ourselves
2. Bit of a patch in the second half where Norwich started to look threatening. That I feel was also our own doing - for about 20 minutes we lost our passing game a little, rushing passes and giving the ball away needlessly. We need to calm down a little in situations like that and keep hold of the ball.
Other than that, good performance. We look much better with Cresswell in the team and Coufal was his usual consistent self. I don't really get those that say he's been poor this season. Lanzini also helped us a lot from deep with his passing game. To be honest, I don't think we really missed Soucek at all. I personally think we need someone a little more direct in central attacking midfield. Someone who scores goals. That's what made Lingard so successful. I couldn't quite work out who was playing there... both Fornals and Vlasic (who I thought had a decent game again) seemed to keep gravitating to the left. I thought at times we perhaps became a little too obsessed with wing play and didn't try and work Norwich from a central position very much. I'd like to perhaps mix it up a bit more at times.

He was top scorer in the Championship when we signed him, playing for Hull who weren’t doing so well.Pete647580 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 9:54 pm Watching bits of replay. Bowen looks like he has real striker's instincts. And he's improving all the time.
He certainly has a striker’s instincts.

I like the way Robby Mustoe described Bowen just now. Said he has the best qualities of a luxury player but he's not a luxury player because he works his socks off start to finish.

I’d like to know what Moyes’ complete record as West Ham boss is That win ratio must be looking good.

We also need to shout out that Fabianski save to keep Norwich out.

Nice. Speaks volumes about Moyes' choice of player and the team spirit and work ethic he's fostered.

Thought Fornals played well tonight and Lanzini deep although not as effective as at 10 was a perfectly acceptable understudy to Soucek albeit playing in a very different way.

Same here. I've got a lot of pent up opinions that the world needs to hear.My_Sobriquet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 10:04 pm This is the first time I’ve been able to post in 3 weeks. Every other time I get the form can’t be submitted error message.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Norwich City: rescheduled match thread
You’re right. It’s incredible. It’s not that long ago we were struggling against relegation and the transformation must be the biggest shift since Leicester won the Premier League after fighting relegation themselves.WestHamLyallStyle wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 9:51 pm 6 points behind Chelsea. I’m not entirely sure people realise how far we’ve come in the last few years and that’s me included.
It’s more than the league position and progress in the Cups too. It’s the quality, character and integrity that the Moysiah has returned to our great club.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Norwich City: rescheduled match thread
Fornals passing was so good. Both he and Lanzini sliced Norwich open over and over again. Have to say, I don't like when Fornals is out of the side. I don't think he should be the 4th choice in the 3 behind Antonio.My_Sobriquet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 10:04 pm Thought Fornals played well tonight and Lanzini deep although not as effective as at 10 was a perfectly acceptable understudy to Soucek albeit playing in a very different way.

Sky are showing a full match re-run. Channel 511 on Virgin Media. 22.15. Although that time slot may change.
