That game where we brought on as sub Dylan Tombides.

Wigan wiped the floor with us that evening. We were shockingly bad, despite taking an early lead.

they scored a deflected last min winner ? midweek game past rob green ? was that the match

No it wasn't!

We lost 1-4 and were 1-3 by half-time!

In recent memory, we actually had a few seasons in a row where it felt like Scott Parker was legitimately the only lad who it felt could actually control, trap or pass the ball. We were truly desperate.

There's an alternate universe where we all had to hang around after this game to hear Mark Noble tell us "this club ain't not run like a circus no more". I have regular nightmares about it.

Yet this was from the season that we destroyed Anfield, took them apart at the Etihad, beat the Arse twice, and did Everton via an Adrian penalty.

All long before Nobes had to start manhandling supporters and eyes were being lost to coins.

The game v Emley came very close to being a front runner in this sort of thread. 1-0 up inside minutes and somehow pegged back to 1-1 and then Emley hit the crossbar.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it but I personally thought we were far worse a few weeks ago against Arsenal than we were yesterday.

Not sure that there should be any link between this thread and yesterday's performance. We weren't that bad yesterday.

Here's another contender, although probably not as bad as the Breen game at Man Utd.

QPR 6 West Ham 1
FA Cup 1978
I got chucked out when QPR scored their fourth and sneaked back in just as Stan Bowles was scoring penalty for the fifth.

Bobby Ferguson
John McDowell
Tommy Taylor
Billy Bonds
Frank Lampard
Alan Devonshire
Alan Curbishley
Pat Holland
Derek Hales
Bryan Robson
David Cross

The 1991/92 season with Billy Bonds as manager was pretty awful and arguably about as bad as things could get

Notts County away on New Years Day in 1991/92 season. Lost 0-3 and majority of Hammers fans sat down. First time I’d ever seriously thought ‘what am I doing here?’ A few days earlier we’d lost 1-3 at Villa. Julian and Frank Mac were about the only two who had anything about them at the time, I remember us singing ‘Julian, Julian, you’re the only one we’ve got’ at Villa.

I remember the announcer saying, 'Wimbledon's fourth goal scored by Efan Ekoku' and the bloke next to me shouting out 'Effing joke more like.'

Went to extra time. The Chicken Run were throwing white handkerchiefs onto the pitch.
