You can't go signing new players just because players are out of form though. We have enough creativity in Lanzini, Fornals and Benrahma - then Vlasic to hopefully improve.

I'd say our creative side of the game would improve if our midfield didn't have to be **** scared of our atrocious defence. They wouldn't need to cover so much and hopefully spend more time getting the ball in better positions. Cresswell will also hopefully be able to use the ball as Coufal, Johnson, Dawson, Fabianski and Diop are suspect in possession.

The output of goals and assists from midfield/attackers is very good.

We just can't defend and have a striker who looks ready for the knackers yard every other game.

Personally I think striker, left sided centre back and left back are all more important. Other posters have made the point before more eloquently than I, our main issues are stopping goals, not creating and scoring them.

Diop’s had long enough to improve as a player since he came here, it’s clearly not going to happen

Surely he’ll be sold in the summer. Makes sense for both parties. His strengths would suit La Liga for example

My main problem with him is he just doesn’t like the nitty gritty of defending, for such a big bloke he’s easy enough to bully and doesn’t anticipate danger

Not sure how many people slagging of Diop saw his first 20 odd games for us. He was brilliant.
Which is why I think he will be in high demand.

Doubt he will be. He needs to learn so much to be a solid defender at the top-level. Plus he never recovers in matches. Once he had a clunker his head is gone. Sunday was a prime example, but obviously his worst show of that kind.

Where do you see his real strength apart from him being quick.

We have a scout at Fulham tonight apparently. Carvalho has scored twice.

Two for your man Carvalho tonight against Birmingham.

And 32 (!) year old Freddie Sears with a goal for Colchester.

Fulham's goalscoring this season is absolutely obscene.

Marco Silva is doing something right.

I agree. So much so that, in his 2nd season, I named my FPL team 'Gissa Diop' in his honour as he was about my favourite player at the time.

I think he looked very good playing alongside Zouma in one of the Europa games and I'd like to see him next to him again at least once before giving up on him.

Hopefully, he was really good, something happened to his confidence, he must still have it in him.

Our old friend Janaai Gordon scored today against future FA Cup opponents Kidderminster.

Another Academy Graduate popping up somewhere in the Pyramid.

Blair Turgott in Sweden has to be the strangest of those?

Five months of good form over 3 years ago, it’s hardly a compelling reason to buy him.

I recall Mourinho praising the scout who found Diop and calling him a beast after our win v Man Utd - in his first season with us.
On a poor run of form now but is being scrutinised with his every touch of the ball, which is a bit unfair, especially on Sunday, I felt there were others playing just as poorly.
Maybe he ends up at Roma with Mourinho?

I see ExWHUetc has said a "deal is there to be done" for Hlozek, so sounds like it has been discussed.
