The striker we brought off the bench against Leeds was 4 years old when Sears made the same journey from the bench against Blackburn.

The time between the sinking of the Titanic and the release of The Beatles’ Revolver was smaller than the gap between the release of The Beatles’ Revolver and the present day.

Another Academy Graduate popping up somewhere in the Pyramid.

Don't be too excited, the Kiddy back 4 got lost in the fog on the Edgar St demolition site. (90, very precious minutes of life, I'll never get back).

Kolasinac off to Marseille on loan. Could mean one of their defender’s is off…

Did anyone see that goal by Okoflex last night? Dribbling past defenders with ease and slotting home. Scored a wonder goal from outside the box a while ago. Why he hasn't had any minutes (21yo) for the first team and Perkins (17yo) has is a mystery. Different level of course but 11 goals in 15 is impressive.

Yeah he looked lovely didnt he and a great goal too. We’ve got the best u23 side in the division at the moment. But as you say it’s a completely different level.
Was it you that gave me the heads up in the other thread about this game ?

He's a left winger too isn't he? I'd have thought Moyes would have been up for another converted winger project.

Hes actually 19, not 21, but your question is still valid.

Not as old as I felt when I realised I’d seen the debuts of both Steve Potts and his son Dan.

Back to transfers, Carvalho from Fulham would be a massive signing but no way are they going to release him while pushing for promotion.

But they don't have enough players to play matches, why would they loan out someone? Crazy.

Weird isn't it? My 'kids' are now older than most of the team :horror:

Why should Carvalho sign for us now, when he is been able play for a high flying Fulham side until the end of the season and see his stock rise even higher?

Ironing Board wrote: Tue Jan 18, 2022 5:48 pm Can you really though? Top four, good cup runs and European football after Christmas. People need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Some of the knee-jerking is embarrassing.
We used to have losts of discussions about what it means to be the Academy of Football, our pass & move DNA, how the managaer(s) who imprinted our footballing philosophy looked abroad to find inspiration.

Some thought that winning was most important, some wanted a style implemented regardless of the results or progression in the league or cups.
Those were the days! You should have been here.

If football to you is only about where we finish in the league and how far we go on in a cup, fine. That's your cuppa.
Seems to be on the same wave length as most spurs, liverpool, manchester, arsenal, chelsea supporters.
If we are up there with them, I guess we need our share of that type of supporter as well.

But i digress.

Bringing in a central defender for the long haul, get the vote from me.
Rather than, then a striker.
