Hope beyond hope we don't sign/loan Nat Phillips or Tarkowski.
Think we are waiting for last 2 days of window to try and pressure clubs into some loans of players they don't want.

Wonder if with Lingard they really wanted to get the game against us out the way first if they have any intention of him coming to us.

The last thing they would have wanted to do was sell to us and he plays a blinder against them this month,

1) He can help fulham get promoted.
2) He is 19 and been there about 6 years. A tribunal would set a fee if he left in the summer and I bet it would be atleast £5m given length of service and how good he has been already.
I think, with someone like Caravalho, we could offer Fulham £5m now and not take it to tribunal. The highest tribunal fees (to my memory) are something like £6.5m+1£1.5m add ons for Danny Ings, and maybe £3m+£3m add ons for Daniel Sturridge. Sturridge had something like 20 Premier League appearances and a handful of goals for Man City before going to Chelsea, and Ings had 4/5 seasons of goal scoring for Burnley in the Championship and Premier League before going to Liverpool.

I think it highly doubtful that Fulham get anywhere near £5m up front for Carvalho from a tribunal. We could loan him back there for the rest of the season so he doesn't actually move until the summer, he helps their promotion push, and we get him at the start of the summer.

ok maybe I was being a tad tongue in cheek...

but pretty much all major transfers from there have been mediocre in the PL at best:

Werner
Havertz
Sancho
Haller
Joelinton
Thiago (sort of)

going back further:
Mkhtarian
Schurle
Baba Rahman
Pizaro
Schweinsteiger
Kagawa
Podolski
Holtby
Nuri Sahin

This may sound a little petty too... but after Liverpool taped up Elliott and they got f*** all for him, they'd loath for him to go there and they are one of the other clubs linked.

Stick in a 2-3 million bid, give him back to them for 18 months and then reap the rewards in 18 months time sounds good to me. They then don't go to a tribunal and they get him for the rest of this campaign and next. We get a player back in 18 months time with a year of Prem experience behind him.

I think that loan back rule should be binned, would stop the likes of Chelsea having 60 players on their books and run the academy as a business. It's like modern day slavery, all be it they get paid well..

Same thoughts here. Also playing 5 minutes to get cup tied so he can't play against Man Utd if we drawn against them.

can't see it myself.
He isn't getting a game and they wouldn't want him to get injured because if he does, nobody will sign him and he then goes on a free in the summer.
they would want money for him now.

Yeah, not sure it's quite at slavery levels but I get your reluctance around it. The regulation around it is pretty ****.

But while the rules are there it could be beneficial for all parties. I'm not sure who would suffer in this instance.
