If he goes there, he obviously has no plans to get back in the England squad

NUFC have apparently made a second loan offer for Lingard today but heres where it gets complicated....
1) Man U only want to sell
2) Lingard only wants a loan, presumably so he can cop a massive signing kn fee in the summer

Its complicated

No problem with your posts to me mate.
You're a fan who sees the good and maybe, not sure, but I may see the bad before the good.

May be an age thing. I'm a fan from the 80's and struggle to recincile West Ham now with the Wsst Ham I grew up supporting. May be a bit jaded at times, like I reckon many Wsst Ham fans in my age group can be.

He'll easily be the best player in the Championship, next year.

Good luck to him.

You definitely see the bad before the good mate

Would be nice to see you see the positive side of something! You'd feel more human then

My interest in him will completely go. Stayed there when he could have joined us then fannied off to Newcastle. Hope they go down, and he'll be pushed to their bench once they come back up.

Bubbles’ point the other day was a good one - are they really so blind that they don’t see helping Newcastle stay up this season is at least as threatening to their hegemony as us getting into the top 4?

Anything we do is precarious and likely to be fleeting, but once Newcastle get established there could be some level of permanence there.

A lot of people slagging off Lingard SHOULD he decide to go to NUFC, but my understanding is we've not even put any sort of bid for him in yet, unless I'm missing something?

Good luck to him if he goes there. Unpopular opinion but I don’t think he was ever going to get into the England squad for the World Cup and while all of us say things like “he’s already minted, why chase the money” it’s not hard to look at the statistics of how many ex footballers end up bankrupt.

I have no idea what Lingard has been doing with his dough, and how well he’s done with saving it, etc, but you do have to make it last forever, and it’s a short career. If you’re a footballer and living large on your salary, you should still end up being fine for life after you stop playing, but in that case you may not be living the same lifestyle you enjoyed during your playing days. My guess is Jesse wants to make sure he and his family are as comfortable as they are now, but for the rest of his life, and he may have looked at what he has, and what life would be like each year relying on that amount, and thought “maybe I should earn as much more as possible in the next five years” so he could keep his current life to the extent possible.

When you balance that against the likely very slim chance of getting to the WC again, the money makes sense (even if most of us can’t even imagine the amount he’s already made).

How much quality is there on Chelsea’s loanees list once you get past the 8th best one?

If the loan limit is 8 starting in November there’s going to have to be a fire sale in the summer. If you assume Gallagher, Broja and Gilmour are all comfortably among the best 8, who’s hovering past the likely sale point? Is that Bakayoko-ish level or a bit better?

Lingard to Newcastle betting suspended on Betfair if that is your thing, sounds like the weekly wage was out of our range.

If this was legible then I might be able to comprehend it!

Everton have been terrible with some 'highly rated' managers! Not too worried about them!
