Hardcore Henry was a f*cking masterpiece.

Ivve just seen Paul Gascoigne on TV on Dancing on ice, cos his son is in this series. The show itself is not my thing, but my wife likes it, but I looked up when his son said his old man is football legend, Paul Gascoigne and I seriously had to do a double take. The geezer honestly looks about 90

Trigger Point on ITV with Vicky McClure.

You’d have seen some of this stuff before, but it did the job for me. Episodes are weekly on Sunday evenings.

Cracker - To Be A Somebody. Has aged remarkably well for a drama that first aired nearly 30 years ago. Brilliantly cast and superbly realised - Jimmy McGovern is the man.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
I wasn't particularly keen on the originals. Although they did frighten me when I watched one when I was 10 years old. Horrors and remakes don't hold much promise but this wasn't too bad. This reimagining doesn't contain the humour of Robert Englund's Freddy which isn't necessarily bad unless you are expecting it to be the same. Watchable.

That's the kind of look you get in later life, after a very long alcohol problem.

Some might say that he's lucky to be alive at all, tbh, as much as he may in fact not agree.

Ozark.

Veers from utterly implausible to downright ludicrous on a scene by scene basis and yet somehow remains totally compelling throughout.

American TV is so much better at that than our own (anything by Jed Mercurio/Harlan Coben as an example).

Especially annoying as I didn’t know they were splitting this season into two parts. :fsake:

Slightly less annoying now.

Was going to finally start Ozark...always been in two minds to be honest.

Trigger Point was okay, pretty obvious what was going to happen and Vicky Mclure was Kate Fleming stuck in a different vest.

Caught it last night. Not bad.

If I see Adrian Lester in next weeks episode then I'll be bailing on it.

The Responder BBC1

Martin Freeman stars as troubled cop in Liverpool whilst trying to juggle mental health issues and the stress of work and family life.

Thought it was great. :newthumb:

+1 for The Responder

Very promising opening episode with Martin Freeman giving a real tour de force performance in the lead role.
60 minutes well spent

Re-signed up to NowTV for a month. Binged all of Curb Your Enthusiasm season 11 yesterday. Better than the previous season for sure, and possibly better than the season before that too, but it's still a fair way from its mid-00s heyday. That said, a past-its-peak Curb is still better than more-or-less anything else on TV presently.

While we've got our month of NowTV, we're going to tuck into Dexter: New Blood and And Just Like That..., and I can't say I'm especially looking forward to either.

Watched A Quiet Place 2 on Sunday... I thought it was really good on the whole. I enjoyed it. An occasional bit of iffy CGI but I'll let them off.

Still on with The Silent Sea on Netlix at the mo. It's not bad, but not brilliant either. Certainly watchable. I'll probably finish it this week and then move on to Ozark next week.
