In fairness whilst Moyes has performed well in the transfer market overall but there have been failings Hugill, Areola (High wages sitting on bench), Vlasic and Alex Kral who can't get a look in for love nor money. Moyes has spent wisely in general but he has also wasted a fair bit too. He does have credit in the bank as far and has performed absolute wonders but the dithering around in the transfer market us ultimately going to cost us its what Everton fans always critised him for.

Just because we only find out this week that we're interested in a player, that doesn't automatically mean we haven't had an interest before now. It just means we didn't know about it. We know how Moyes works, how close he likes to keep things to his chest, and how long he takes to make up his mind, do his due diligence etc. So what's the chances that he's just suddenly come up with a new name in the last week? If we are genuinely interested in Broja (and that's a big 'if' considering the source of that information) then he'll have likely been interested for a while - we just weren't aware.

None of Areola, Kral or Vlasic are failures.

Kral must be doing something right or we’d have kept Coventry here. Areola was great business for a year and probably gets a permanent deal soon, looks the best goalkeeper we have. Vlasic is improving with each game and his signing is being entirely rated by fee and short-term thinking.

When you think about it, we have three totally different people, all with their own very different agenda's, operating over player transfers. Is it any surprise therefore, we find this all so frustrating and difficult to conclude any deals ?

You're right.

The only way to resolve this is to get the three of them locked in a room for some time and hope that Sullivan, Moyes and hammerman11 can thrash their differences out between them.

Our problem is we only really have a decent starting eleven. As soon as anyone is injured or on international duty we suffer.
We now have internationals coming up so even if we buy a couple of players we could be hit by injuries from the internationals and we're back to square one.
We just don't have a strong enough bench and there are players we need to shift who aren't improving us at all, they are lesser fill-in players rather than equal level who we can rotate.

But my main fear is because of this we will see our best players leave come the end of the season and we're back to just staying up every season.
Maybe we have to treat this season as a one off like 1986 as we are punching above our weight but its a sad reality that unless you have money you can't compete at the very top with a decent squad rather than just a starting eleven.

I think most would agree that if rice gets injured then our season is over really.

Words are certainly malleable. Who wouldn’t be interested who wouldn’t if he were known to be unhappy put out feelers like no doubt they do hundreds of times. That however has nothing to do with focusing on him, negotiating or making an offer at the other end of transfer activity. Yet ‘interest’ could cover anything on that spectrum.

Next summer is the one thats going to hurt us even more Newcastle, Southampton, Villa, Man Utd all going to be very active in the transfer market all with significantly richer owners than we have all also competing for the same sort of standard of player and can't offer the salaries they will be able to. As I've said the ideal time to get a step ahead was to invest last January spend properly in the Summer and lay down foundations of deals this January during the season. We've had our opportunity to progress. If its true Man Utd don't want to sell Lingard to us well when Rice looks to leave in the summer when we've plummeted down the league with the lack of players and no Europa League at minimum we should also refuse to sell to Man Utd but we will at the first opportunity too and it will be nowhere near hes market value Rice's comments after the game sounded not far off a come and get me plea

1. No. 4 were summer, 4 mid season

2. Bad example, we are fighting on 3 fronts, do not have a bloated squad or financial issues (ffp or whatever)
