Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
This transfer window feels like it has gone on forever. I now just want it to end.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
1. = Napoli have seen him play
2. No chance, Atalanta have one of the most sophisticated scouting systems in Europe
A subsidised loan to Fenerbache is our only chance. There is no way Arthur is leaving us permanently during the last two and a half years of his contract

But the players we want are just not availablePuff Daddy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 6:48 am The latest on Caleta-Car this morning is, we want him, we really, really, really want him, and the player really, really, really wants to come to us, but not enough to pay £20m for him and that is why we are trying to loam him

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Just ask a senior civil servant to complete an inquiry. By the time the report is finished everyone will have forgotten and you can stay on
Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
If you read what I said it's just an example of how transfers work
A. Just because you put the same bid in as another club it doesn't have to be accepted
B. Just because you bid higher it doesn't have to be accepted
c. Clubs can set diff prices based on the clubs bidding.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
The biggest problem with Abraham is that Chelsea wanted a buy back clause.
They should be illegal

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Then debate them and prove them wrong. It is a discussion forum after all.
Some of us are bored with the posters who want us to sign anyone who has ever played striker in their career including players they couldn't pick out in a line up.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Considering Calvert-Lewin is quoted at £60 million that massively puts me off.
Especially when we'd have no say in the when, imagine if Rice had some sort of clause and someone activated it on deadline day. Or if there was no striker around we were that interested in, but Man Utd offer a crazy £100 million bid, we think we can do alright with that, then Chelsea undercut them with £70 million and we still have to agree.
As a rule I'd say no to any club wanting a buy back clause.

Southampton are now expected to launch a £25m bid for striker Armando Broja, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Surely you would think we could match that bid?

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Which posters are these that have suggested that? A few people are making out on here that Antonio is the new 'Batistuta' and there isn't a single striker in world football that compares to him or that West Ham could get.
All I have seen is people making striker suggestions and routinely getting shot down by the same couple of posters.

Who the hell is Julian Alvarez and why are Man City signing a Sully Special?
Also, nice to see the true GOAT Gabriel Batistuta get a mention, reckon he could still do a job for us.

We could but they'd have to wait until August 31st obviously.BethnalGreenHammer74 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:15 am Southampton are now expected to launch a £25m bid for striker Armando Broja, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
I think we should take the bull by the horns, stop ****ing about and go hell for leather for Barbosa, the only striker we are likely to land while there is still time to get a deal done. We can't leave a player based in Brazil until the 11th hour

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Man City are trying to do what clubs in Spain and Italy have done for years now and get these young players from South America before they've made it to Europe and made their name.YorksHammer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:18 am Who the hell is Julian Alvarez and why are Man City signing a Sully Special?

He looks just the sort that they'll be able to flip for double their money in a couple of years even if he doesn't quite work out.
Did the same last summer with that kid from Brazil called Kayky (really hope that's pronounces Cakey). Half a season in Brazil with most of his league appearances in the state championship and they did a deal for him worth up to £25m.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
do they if chelsea agree to sell ? good player and looks just what we need. saints will have an advantage in that he knows them but surely playing for WHU in front of 60k plus euro footie will persuade him. plus we will pay mmore in wages !
30m and we get him ! our striker for years and no more windows wondering if we will get the striker we need

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
What I've seen I the last couple of weeks is players suggested at values we'd never buy at, players I've never heard of and I'm 95% certain the poster suggesting them hasn't or the unobtainable.
All fairly easy to shoot down which is probably why they have been.
What credible options have been shot down?

I don’t particularly like em either. But can’t the player still reject the move?
