Unless it’s 100% pro the current narrative, condemnation will quickly follow regardless of whether the comments are true.Denbighammer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 9:30 amhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/60125897
Mike O'Farrell Middlesex chairman. Can his views really be described as "deeply hurtful"?

Getting spanked in the third T20 currently. WI looking at heading for over 200 at the half way point. Could get ugly unless we can peg them back.

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021 + Ashes
Absolute garbage bowling from almost everyone (Rashid and Topley excused) Just stick it in the slot over and over again.
Impressive hitting from the West Indians and a great ton from Powell. Ali did sod all as captain and just let it unfold Root style.
Garton got taken for 57 on his debut! Mills (who I don’t get the fuss about) goes for 52.
Let’s see if they can chase this (I’ll be surprised if they do)

We've bowled some utter filth tonight.
Not a debut to remember for Garton. Nice of Moeen to step up as Captain when his bowlers were floundering and bowl one over...

Has anyone thought that there may actually be an element of truth to what O'Farrell said. We can't keep jumping on everything and claiming it as racist.Denbighammer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 9:30 amhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/60125897

Ask the Windies cricket board as to some of the reasons they're not as successful as the were back in the 70s/80s. I promise you now, a lot of it will be down to young West Indian men being more interested in other sports rather than cricket.

James ‘out after playing a good looking shot’ Vince.
Seems the West Indies have plans for each batsmen, maybe we could try something like that next time
Banton holding this together.

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021 + Ashes
There was a BBC radio documentary on 5live a few years ago saying exactly what O'Farrell said. Basically, the Premier league caused a massive drop in cricket participation amongst young Caribbean kids.westham, eggyandchips wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 10:39 pmHas anyone thought that there may actually be an element of truth to what O'Farrell said. The faux outrage doesn't add up! Or does it have to be a person of colour saying it to be a valid point.

Great t20 tonight. 6s galore, decent debut from Salt and a fine knock by Banton. Horror show by poor George Garton on debut though. 400 odd runs. All good fun.

Harry Brook needs to stay in St Lawrence’s Gap and not show up Saturday or Sunday.
10 off 13 when needing 2 a ball, he wasnt even playing and missing. He was genuinely nudging for singles.

Salt looked very impressive and full of confidence.
Banton also looks to be over his mental health issues and in good nick.
Last year I was ranting about having Vince back in the white ball team as he was in pretty decent form but in the last two games he’s hit 6s then got out next ball clubbing one to a fielder at extra-cover. Shame.

It's been the theme of James Vince his entire career! Good shots and out for 30.Vic_Watson wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 1:11 pm6-and-out a worrying theme of this series for our batsmen.

To be fair, Windies are little bit good at this form of cricket

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021 + Ashes
They are ranked tenth in the world England are currently first. We should be competitive even with a depleted team. What worries me is the lack of plans. WI clearly have plans when batting and bowling, we don’t seem to.Puff Daddy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 7:29 pmTo be fair, Windies are little bit good at this form of cricket

We lose because only two of our bowlers performed. Simple as that.
