Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Letting Longelo go does seem surprising - he's looked great at U23's and gave a good show of himself in the Europa.
The only decent explanation is that we've got someone lined up in the summer that would likely hinder his progress and we're doing the decent thing.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
What I like about Brereton is that he scores a variety of goals... long range, short range, placed into the bottom corner, smashed into the roof of the net, headers... I like that in a striker. It's why I liked the look of Cabral. Other strikers we've been linked with seem more like close range finishers.
Considering the amount of crosses that Coufal and Cresswell put in, and the importance we put on set pieces, I'm also a little concerned that Broja has yet to score a header in his career to date, and that includes his spell at Vitesse.

You think you've got a long day ahead, spare a thought for the bloke who's trudging in this morning to conduct an ageing Carroll's medical.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
The fact is he is out of contract in the summer and they risk losing him.on a free although I understand there is an option of a further one year, but if he wants the move at vastly improved wages, which Blackburn will be unable to match, he would find our offer irresistibleWestbourne Bill wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:32 am Huge gamble for Blackburn in selling their star player when he’s put them in with a great chance of promotion and the PL fortunes that would bring. Can’t see it happening in this window - nor the summer if they go up.

to answer your question...Ethanadict wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:18 am Where have the rumours about Longelo leaving come from?
A loan wouldn't surprise me. Maybe not a transfer either actually. He's 21 and not been given much of an opportunity. 21 is young but still old enough that he should have had a few more opportunities by now.
His runs forward were exciting when I saw him against Dynamo Zagreb, but, I felt he was more Masuaku than he was Cresswell. And we know what Moyes what prefers.
Alese and Baptiste looked more assured defenders to me, and even they have a bit of a gap before they command our own box on the headers like Oggie, Zouma or Dawson. Tough comparison maybe, but that's where you need to get to, to be able to step in.
I'm not down on our youngsters because nothing would please me more to see another Ben Johnson come through, but I think we need to be realistic that the PL has some of the best players in the world and is pretty unforgiving.
As said by someone else earlier, we've not only got Moyes but also Stuart Pearce - they know a thing or two about what makes a decent left back. I'm happy to trust their opinion.

We shouldnt need a GK in the summer but if we do, I really rate Forest's Keeper, Samba. He looks one real cool dude.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
We may sign no one but it’s still good to know that Spurs’ transfer policy is just as good as it has been for the last decade.
“Paratici has gotten off to a bad start at Tottenham. In the summer he had a £60m budget and he bought a left winger, a centre mid (but left him on loan) and a right back. Fast forward 5 months & we are now looking to deals for a left winger, a centre midfielder and a right back.”

Moyes can’t rate him if he’s playing Arthur and Johnson out of position thereMcKnightmare wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:35 am Letting Longelo go does seem surprising - he's looked great at U23's and gave a good show of himself in the Europa.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
surely not. Brereton must be on peanuts, by prem league stds and we pay pretty well in prem terms.Georgee Paris wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 8:14 am
I can see us making an offer that’s accepted but then we can’t agree personal terms

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Not sure if its true but I've just read that one of the scouts we hired worked for Marseille... which might explain the interest in several Marseille players.
