Scousers close to Luis Diaz deal. Hope, they loose their interest in Bowen now.

Burnley Hammer wrote: Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:20 am Seriously I think he'll do well. He's a good all round player, his off the ball movement is very good, and he knows how to finish. I think he'll go on to be a Danny Ings type striker. A big lad too so can only be an advantage with our corners and set-pieces. Obviously there's always an element of risk in these signings but I think he'll succeed.
You are not 1st Choice for England Under 19's for two seasons without a pedigree. Yet, listening to some on here it is if he has been spotted playing on Hackney Marshes.

He made his League debut for Forest age 17 and scored his 1st League Goal age 17. He was voted the Championship Apprentice of the year the same season. Blackburn paid £7m.

He is 22, 6'1", has pace, works like a trojan, is great in the air and has scored 20 Championship goals in the 1st half of the season. Moyes and Newman (apparently) rate him.

He may not be the finished article, but apart from DCL or Schick he would be my choice. It is rumoured that Blackburn will sell for £25m. This is similar money to what we paid for Vlasic and Benrhama. It doesn't appear to be much of a financial risk (given his goalscoring record and international exposure, even if he fails he will retain value). I think that other than some Sakho style signing from the French League, if we are signing a striker, he is the one. I still don't think our stock is high enough (yet) to pull off the Schick/DCL or Vlahovic type signing. So as I was taught, when I was a kid, chasing girls - "set attainable targets"!

The evening show reporting Caleta-Car on his way to West Ham apparently were the first to break Bakambu signing for Marseille a couple of weeks ago.

Marseille fans seem disappointed in losing him, as they feel he has been good this season and a big reason for their defence being the best in the league. They are worried about how they would replace him in two days, but they recognise his contract has 18 months on it and if he doesn't want to extend it, they probably have to sell now.

They sound more positive about him than in the summer, when opinions were much more mixed.

I'm right in saying that if we sign Caleta-Car he can't play in Europe for us, right?

I think he can. They've changed the rules I believe. I'll check now.

Yes, he can play for us in Europa if we sign him. We can register three players. It doesn't matter whether they have played in any European group stage.

I read on the BBC gossip page the other day that Diaz has a £66 million release clause which meant spurs bid hit the buffers.

I obviously dislike spurs more but I'm no fan of Liverpool either with Jota that nasty little ****. So hoping the wheels come off (although Bowen is obviously an issue).

Marseille seem pretty keen to get rid of him to be fair.

Is he out of contract in the summer or something?

No idea how realistic he is given Blackburn's promotion chase, but I'm at the stage where we should just go all in for Brereton Diaz and try to get him for whatever we can. Every striker is a gamble but I think he's a gamble worth making.

18 months left but they're skint and if they leave it till the last 12 months of his contract, they're at risk of him leaving for less.

They’re probably skint again, one of the worst run clubs in world football.
