Is he? Or do you not think it's because it's now a live investigation that people are unable to voice their opinions on Greenwood for fear of prejudicing a trial should one come to light, plus now the fact his partner is now a victim of anonymity (depite us knowing who she is) and there's all sorts of legal ramifications to what can and cannot be said now?

Greenwood got untold amounts of ****, but once he was arrested, this site at least, unlike Twitter etc which is unmoderated, have to do what's right in the eyes of the law.
Isn't there a chance of criminal sanction here too? The RSPCA is the prosecuting body and they are still investigating.

Another to add to the foe list alongside IB.
:newthumb: Enjoy your echo chamber.

I think some weight has to be given to other cultures and their approach to animals. Wouldn't it be good if we could arrive at a positive lesson for Zouma and young people that it's just not how you treat animals?

I just don't see a huge benefit from stopping him from doing his job for us on the pitch.

If Hartson did what he did in the street he’s have been looking at jail. I’m more angry when someone drink drives or smashes their car up doing 100+. The vitriol on here is way out of hand.

And I’ve already said what he did was wrong but a bit of perspective is required.
It's not out of hand at all. The man is scum and deserves a jail term.

Hope an Animal lover finds him and gives him a taste of his own medicine.

Whilst I agree that's a good view point in general, Zouma is French born and bred.

I think people need to get in the real world, of Moyes thinks it's best for the team, Zouma will play tonight.
Tonight is a celebration of the life of Isla - Nicola Caton's request that the club have put a lot of effort in to making tonight about Isla. Nicola has asked that we don't let our and her anger spoil it. The Club will want to ensure that's what happens - I don't think that he will play tonight.

Yes, and there are plenty of people in France that mistreat animals, when judged by UK standards.

By playing an out of form defender ahead of him, tells Zouma that actions like that make footballing ability mean very little in comparison. Also regardless of people thinking footballers are happy to just pick up their wages, they want to play football and that’s a punishment.

The other, is that fans don’t want someone like that representing the club at the moment. If Zouma actually shows some remorse, a proper apology and does some work with a cat charity, then perhaps some might feel that he’s on the right path. At the moment, a posted apology doesn’t cut it for most.

He's not a kid fresh off the bus from Lyon. He's a grown-ass man of 27 who's been plying his trade here in the UK for something like 8 years. I'm not buying this idea that he couldn't have known that his jolly cat-smacking hijinks wouldn't have gone down all that well over here.

A Bengal cat. Love them and they love you back.

A couple of hours with their bigger brothers at London Zoo and he'd think again.

He's muslim and from a large central african family. They aren't excuses, but I think there's a context issue.

Do you honestly think Declan Rice would boot his cockapoo around his lounge?

I think this is fair and whatever happens we don't want to retract from these tributes. I'm sure the club will make the right call on this, whatever it is.

Oh that's okay then. He's put it to bed with that statement. Yoan Zouma wasn't too ashamed to put it out on social media though.

Just logged in to read the Watford preview and I see this. What an absolute cock. Animals don’t ask much, food warmth and a little love. He can do one.

Personally, I think there's every chance he's as ignorant of UK norms now as he was when he arrived. Surely him and his brother wouldn't have been so asinine to share that video if they were aware of the reputational damage it's caused.

"Couldn't have known" isn't what I'm saying - culturally acceptable, even not as frowned upon.

He apologised for being caught, not for doing it, let's face it.

coming from a different country / culture isn’t an excuse or a defence.

I would be very surprised if this was not all forgotten about in a weeks time and if there was any widespread booing of Zouma in the ground. If anything, I imagine some of our 'wordsmiths' have already penned a few songs. That's not me belittling the incident but we've seen many times in the past that noise on a football forum does not translate to that in the stadium.
