And all that is totally irrelevant because we are talking about Russia and Ukraine, and the conflict ongoing. Pointing to America’s failings, or those of other European countries is not an answer.

You make it sound as if all the threats are one way. Do you beleive there will be peace if NATO disappeared and the West had no army?
Or would Russia and China and their proxy allies fight to take all?
For all our governments incompetence, I would rather live here than in Russia or China. Look how the former Soviet States are thriving. Granted with EU help, but that is another matter.
How will Russia invest in Ukraine. Military bases, mining? Will this money stay local, or find its way into Putins pockets.
Russians have to consider if Putins ego and wallet are worth thousands of dead Russians.
