(although I have to say that, when Peel's voice starts this clip, I am filled with a real sense of melancholy - feels like a lifetime ago since I first bought this track).

If there is one thing I dislike about the TMC cover is the way the lyrics from the original are sung to make the words almost incomprehensible.

It's a small, beef, all told.

It mystifies me how people get so dewy-eyed about Tim's son. Tim was a wonderful songwriter but seems to be a minority taste, for some reason.

maybe because both were so short lived ?

it's incredible that Tim Buckley song was SO long ago and it's aged still so well.

there's a Bryan Ferry version from Belfast for the Titanic Anniversary of all things...he struggles vocally but..

stunning..

:crylol:

how long ago was Roxy Music ?

Although the band took a break from group activities in 1976 and again in 1983

that clip was only 10 years ago.

you didn't expect Virginia Plain did you ?

:crylol:

Pulp Common People

another one that would be worn out if it were vinyl

dunno why I can't get it to post but it's live at Reading 2011.

absolutely brilliant.
Cheers for posting that Cuence - hadn't seen it before - epic version. Jarvis is one of those people who just puts a smile on my face.

yeah it is brilliant... although to be honest, all of these could go on the "Songs to listened to when you've had a few thread"

:crylol:

that was an amazing clip, there's Disco 2000 available on there too, and like yourself, Jarvis brings a smile to my face also.

had to look it up - that was 2011 and I'm pretty sure they hadn't done anything new for maybe 10 years or that ? could be well mistaken, but if so, to have that high up the bill for someone who hasn't had anything out for that long and whose name isn't Elton John or Paul McCartney, says a lot about who they are/were.

Personally I could listen to London Calling, The Stone Roses and Meat is Murder albums from here to Kingdom Come and be perfectly satisfied.

But thinking outside the box, here’s some…
