Soucek Rice Gallagher would be a pretty great midfield three and would allow Bowen Antonio Depay to cause havoc further up.

I doubt Chelsea will let him go as he is now on the brink of the England squad and has a lot of good press this season.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 12:53 pm If it's at all possible, and if Chelsea are willing to sell, I think Conor Gallagher would be an outstanding signing. I'd rather have him than Phillips. He works hard, puts a defensive shift in, and is great going forward. If we wanted a solid 3 man midfield but without it being too overly defensive, I think he'd be perfect.
However, I’m siding with Ironing Board here when I say that I could see us signing Billy Gilmour. It’s just not worked out for him at Norwich (bad club choice) and I could see maybe a loan to buy deal.
Great little player who I think would flourish around better players..

I’ve been thinking this most of the season would be a great signing

Would love Gallagher, great balance with Rice and Soucek……but would be very nervous any conversation becomes Gallagher and Broja plus a few quid for Rice.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 12:53 pm If it's at all possible, and if Chelsea are willing to sell, I think Conor Gallagher would be an outstanding signing. baz cooper is the universe's organic manifestation of the collective hopes and fears that these threads have developed over the years. he is all of us and he is no one.

If there was someone I actually wanted to take from Chelsea right now, with them reportedly looking to add attacking players (Lewandowski linked) is Timo Werner. I think he's unfairly maligned by Chelsea fans, and actually offers a lot more than some seem to think. He's really good at dropping a bit deeper and creating, as well, and I think if he were in the team we'd see him much more like he was at Leipzig.

I think Werner is fantastic and will move on and click into gear again.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Logically Gallagher would just replace Saul in the Chelsea squad and would jump ahead of Ruben* and Barkley. Obviously Chelsea don’t usually do the logical thing though. I think he’d cost too much though

Do you think he could play centrally in Antonio’s position? I’ve not really watched him much there to have an opinionYorksHammer wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 1:19 pm

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Last summer I semi-seriously suggested that if we were so inclined we could do a lot worse than simply doing our entire summer recruitment as a job lot from West Brom’s squad list and then heading off to the beach until the start of the season.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 12:53 pm If it's at all possible, and if Chelsea are willing to sell, I think Conor Gallagher would be an outstanding signing.
That suggestion is holding up pretty well I think.
Gallagher, Pereira, Maitland-Niles, Karlan Grant, Johnstone etc would probably have got far more minutes for us this season that what we ended up with.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
I think that would require a lot of money. Gallagher ticks a lot of boxes in terms of 'taxes' and 'surcharges', and using Guehi as a benchmark the bidding starts at a minimum of £25 Million, with subsequent add ons which will price him highly.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 12:53 pm If it's at all possible, and if Chelsea are willing to sell, I think Conor Gallagher would be an outstanding signing. I'd rather pay big money for him than Phillips. He's still only 22 and has a big future imo.

Don't get me wrong, I want him! He ticks a lot of boxes from our point of view, and like Zouma, you will need to pay for him. He has a very bright future.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 1:53 pm I'd rather pay big money for him than Phillips. He's still only 22 and has a big future imo.
