how much money is there is used cars/new cars that Cazoo can sponsor Villa AND Everton. had to visit their website and it shows now they're going to sponsor LOSC...
Cazoo have been throwing sponsorship money around all over the place since getting their big investments in 2020 and an IPO in 2021. Share price has propped almost 90% since that IPO.
Villa will be fine but could be an ITV Sport type situation with some of the smaller sports they've been sponsoring if it all goes belly up.

As someone who's had gambling problems, I welcome this.
Get it off the adverts as well.

Weren't Jiffy Condoms almost our shirt sponsors at one point? "Real Men Come in a Jiffy" and all that? Might've been fun if we'd pulled it off (oo-er missus, etc).
Not sure I'll ever like a shirt sponsor as much as Dr. Martens or Dagenham Motors. They felt very "us", in a good way.

Yes, but the problem is that Gambling, like drugs, is extremely addictive and many people are unable to do so in moderation. Gambling, especially casino games, are literally designed to hook you. In many ways, gambling is much more destructive than drugs.
A day gambling can ruin your life, where as it would take months/years for drugs to do similar.

The problem is that the football stuff is a standard gateway drug for those with addictive personalities though. It’s the acceptable face of what for some very average people can easily become a crippling all consuming addiction.
It’s like having “bit of Saturday night bugle” on a shirt, and then arguing that doesn’t lead to people jacking up.

Jakes - the Seven Kings purveyor of Burgers would be my first up pick.
If they can serve the blowout inside the stadium, I’m in.

True enough, though I think we all have to take responsibility for our action. There should also be room for compassion for the afflicted.
I do think drugs are much worse as they will destroy your mind and your body. At least with gambling you can rebuild your finances, unlike with an addled body.
But I think those tv shows that are basically extended adverts for gambling are many times worse than shirt sponsorships and the like. Banning tobacco sponsorship did more harm than good to sports like snooker.

I am a semi-professional gambler (but i know what i am doing) and i would have no issues with any gambling related sponsorship\advertising being banned period. In my younger days i could have easily succumbed to the allure of the adverts and got myself in serious trouble.
It feels like every time you turn on the TV (especially so on sky) and where ever you look (billboards) you are inundated with gambling adverts.
What also annoys me is they advertise all the extra tools for managing your gambling, but, in reality you have to do that yourself, something a seriously addicted individual is not going to do without help.
Time for a ban on all gambling related advertising, not just football sponsorship me thinks.

There is no responsibility for someone who is addicted to gambling, the brain doesn’t think rationally. Which is why it’s hilarious that betting companies pride themselves on setting limits and ‘time outs’ both of which can be stopped at the press of button, the measures are useless.
As for banning smoking ads doing harm to snooker than good, this isn’t about improving the sport, this is about proving peoples lives, which I think is more important.
