Says it all really. I have been waiting over fifty years to see a season like this one just gone. Anybody who calls it a disappointment should have their brains tested.Hammer1966 wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 9:33 pm Today was more about celebrating another great season than worrying too much about the result. Its been a long hard season with a threadbare team. We did better than could be expected.

Or failing to find a teammate with the more simple passes. I don't think he was failing due to other players not being available. Rice is generally always available to receive as is Lanzini.
It's generally that right hand side... Coufal, Soucek, Bowen. In terms of build up play, it's not pretty to watch.

WHU have enjoyed better seasons in the league, won cups and been in finals (including European) since 1972.

Caicedo has outshone Bissouma the last few weeks I thought. Still only 20. They'll be well covered in that area even if Bissouma departs.

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread
I feel a little bit sorry for the lads this weekend. This has been a season of so many near-misses, and I just feel like on Sunday they had run out of steam.
With such a small squad, it just felt like this was a step too far to lift themselves for one more push.
Similar happened last year, but Lingard was the catalyst to lift the boys, but this year, when we needed an injection we just couldn't find one.
I genuinely think we need around 6 new player this year. 4 for the first team, and 2/3 to flesh out the squad.
Say what you like about yesterday though, I will not look back on this year with anything other than complete pride. Hats off, lads. You gave it everything!

Right. I see . I have been following since 1964 but it sometimes feels like nigh on 100 years.

Our bench:
2 keepers….
Fredericks (not rated)
Johnson
Yarma (gone today)
Noble (leaving the playing staff)
Oko Flex (clearly not rated)
Kral (ditto)
Arthur (ditto)
A complete mismanagement of recruitment. Far too many players have been asked to play every week. It’s farcical and how we did so well is incredible.
I’m shocked Moyes fails to mention recruitment.

Tut, tut, that sounds like a veiled criticism of the Moysiah. Simply not allowed on here.Jon wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 5:54 pm Our bench:

Watching since 1963.
@ UTJ: True, there have been some momentous seasons (1986, 1980, 1975 and 2005-6 perhaps?) but nothing has stirred these old bones as much as the season just gone. To beat so many of the Sky Six, to hold our heads high in Europe, To achieve the sort of football skills I have been yearning for...That's why I waited so long.
