Yeah, but Tom is a much cleaner player. He doesn't have anywhere near the upper body strength of Fellaini, who could just ragdoll people with ease. His chest control really was something else as well.

and let's not forget the very sharp elbows than Fellaini unfortunately was born with and it's a shame that he couldn't stop them from clattering into other player's noggins...talk about unwieldy

Minus free-kicks his productivity is Lanzini/Fornals levels. It’s too much money for a player we’ve basically already got a couple of.

That person you mention would have been me.

I advocate him there as a much more useful version of Lanzini. And then one who can play deeper in a two against better teams.

£65m is too much for our budget, but you massively underrate him

I really think we need someone to replace Lanzini. He is far too lightweight. Maybe OK for the bench but he is never a starter. Fornals has a better engine and seems to be more versatile.

Fair. I thought Johnson outside of his goal was anonymous too (and has been in a couple of others I’ve seen). Spence had an average game as well but I’ve definitely seen him light it up a few times.

Yeah we seemed to function well with Fornals in that sort of left wingback role. That said, if we sign the Rangers defender then we may not need the coverage so badly.
