The list of shootings in the 2010s is about ten times longer than the 00s list.

00s averaged around 5-6 shootings a year.

10s averaged around 20 (2019 having over 50)

From my counting, 68 school shootings have occurred in the 2020s. The same number in 2.5 years as the whole of the 00s decade.

In response to this Texas allowed more teachers to carry concealed weapons into schools. Which is the obvious answer.

Bloody hell. I guarantee they will just call for more and more guns & ex soldiers in schools to protect kids from more & more guns.

Kids younger than mine. Slain by another sick f*** while America does nothing and the likes of the NRA push more guns as the answer.

Rest in peace little ones and their teacher.

Your country has utterly failed you.

I raised the question to a couple of Americans asking would they give up guns if it saves a child's life. Their answer was the problem isn't guns

It's just a complete coincidence that the country with by far the most guns has by far the most gun murders & mass shootings.

Not connected at all.

Apparently, a number of the victims are children of customs and border patrol and law enforcement agents. No idea whether that had played any part in the murderer's motivation, but you know what the narrative is going to be on Fox News tonight.

I actually felt nauseous when this news broke. It's just too much. It has to stop.

And half the population here believes fundamentally that the rights afforded them in this country are 'god given', when what they really have are some privileges that were agreed upon and implemented a few centuries ago by fallible human beings.

The town is 80% Mexican/Mexican American. I am guessing here but I reckon most of the dead kids will be too, as probably most of the Border Agents will be.

I live by the border & here most Border Agents are Mexican or Filipino heritage. The Filipinos always give my Missus (US born Asian American) a hard time crossing the border while giving me (White resident Alien - not a citizen) ultra friendly treatment. F*ck knows why but it pisses her off.

This kid shot his granny first then headed for the school. Sounds like just another cowardly shyte looking for a soft target like all the others. They shoot up schools or shops most commonly, don't they.

And, like many of the others, his social media was full of photos of his guns.

I asked my 13 year old son if his teachers discussed the slaughter at school today. He said, “ No, but a kid was expelled today for having brought a gun to school last week”. He wasn’t sure whether it was a real handgun or an Airsoft gun. Nevertheless, we parents were never told about it from the administration. I had to hear about it off the cuff from my kid. That’s how ****ed up we are.

Unfortunately those in favour of less gun laws are the same people who think basketball players are black thugs.

The reason they have to do this is because the bodies are mangled to the point of being unrecognizable.
