This government just reminds me of the bloke/bird who's been caught cheating, all promises that it won't happen again, flowers/bj's by the bucket load, money no object -finest restaurant's and gifts, just give me one more chance to show I've changed...... all the while renewing their subscription on tinder or something and booking away trips for 'work'.

We on the other hand are those sorry pups who are too self conscious to make the required break and tear that plaster off.

What annoys me is that the cabinet are hopeless, Johnson is a lazy lying inept clown, I can't stand my MP and my ward councillors are never to be seen.

Yet one of the Conservative ward councillors in the ward where my wife's business is situated is absolutely superb. A nice bloke and has happily gone about for the last 6 or so years helping all and sundry for the community. Not because he's ambitious he just wants to do his best for his local community.

Conservative or otherwise, if he was my MP I'd probably vote for him.

Trying to make out people are somehow less than you because of how they vote doesn't help anyone imo. There is enough crap on both sides to be able to question anyone's choice if we really wanted to. I'd imagine at least 25% of the labour membership hate lots about their leader (establishment crony, police state advocate, prosecuted protestors are just a few of the things I have read) but will still vote labour at the election.

I realise you are trying to create some sort of generalised moral judgement superiority but it's frankly ridiculous. By that standard did labour voters support an anti Semite with terrorist sympathies last time out? Of course they didn't, for one thing they aren't a homogeneous group they vote labour for their own individual reasons.

Imo lots of people vote against getting the other lot, a lesser of 2 evils kind of thing. Judging them for picking one particular evil over another is a bit too sanctimonious for my tastes.
I fully understand how voters think and will vote as they have always done,my point is that 63% of the Tory voters polled backed Boris.
I have always voted Labour but refused to last election because of Corbyn.
Me trying to create a moral judgment superiority, are you having a laugh,I know my morals and hate liars,if I make a mistake I have always put my hand up and accepted responsibility,I brought my son up like that and now expect the same from my grandsons.
I have lived under many Tory governments, not liked it but that is democracy, but under Boris he has dragged them down to an all time low.
As I said I hate people who when they make a mistake they lie and take no responsibility for their actions and that’s in any walks of life.
I hope he does stay because I think he will bring more damage to the Tory party.

None of them stand for anything. It's the same club with different colours.
I don't think that's entirely true at all.

Johnson's government certainly seem to stand for whatever benefits them in that moment. Labour have things they stand for, but they're being tight lipped this far from a potential GE. The Lib Dems are now an irrelevance thanks to Clegg's duplicity so noone cares what they stand for, and we all know what the Greens stand for.

They said he shouldn't resign there is no way of knowing that each individual would say that's backing him. They may think he should clean up his mess, they may think it's better he takes all the grief and then a new guy come in. My guess is most are just so desensitized to politicians now to really care.

If that's true then you must be like me and never vote for anyone, certainly not for 2nd or 3rd terms. Which of course is what these Tory voters may well choose to do. Did you vote for Blair 2nd and 3rd time round?

How many of the top dogs have gone when caught lying and cheating in recent years? Mandelson might be the one and he was dragged kicking and screaming twice.

Listen, it’s a “temporary targeted energy profits levy” it’s not a windfall tax, they’re unconservative and stop investment….or at least they did until Sue Gray’s report hit the headlines.

They forced out the only honourable Tory remotely capable of galvanising the nation and doing a good job at the same time.

Fair play, they've (almost) done the right thing with this extra help :newthumb:

Just took 7 months of lies & controversy, a £500k police investigation, a handful of sackings & resignations, about 150 fines for breaking the COVID guidelines and another embarrassing u-turn.

The father of a member of the House of Lords (appointed there by Johnson) has just been sanctioned by Canada. Nothing to see here.

Dave Dixon doesn't know what he is talking about - he's a Corbynite, if you needed any further proof.

£650 one off payment to people receiving Universal Credit. Why not a £650 income tax rebate for anyone who worked through the pandemic without receiving Furlough payments ?

No shame
You have to wonder what goes through their minds at times...

Anyone with half a brain should know not to compare what politicians and civil servants did during lockdowns with NHS staff.

What with Richard Drax with his 150m fortune saying that the measures today are "throwing red meat at socialists" the ability to read the mood of the nation is hard to do it seems for some. He's probably still pissed off James Bond blew up his brother Hugo's space station in Moonraker...
