Absolutely... players with multiple ankle and knee injuries always go on to have long and fruitful careers. FWIW, the broken comment was from the Arsenal fan at work. Menat to be doubts he'll ever be the same after the surgery.

Anyway I'm letting you drag this off topic (again) so let's leave it there.

For what it’s worth Shaw is on £200k a week
I drink with Shaw’s best friend
Not as close as you BGL, but I occasionally drive past the secondary school he went to.

Unfortunately that doesn't provide any insight to anything footy related. :|

I really don’t think we should be going anywhere near Luke Shaw with the largest of barge poles.

I would be interested in Mephis Depay, but his wages will likely be astronomical.

It’d be a shame to miss out on Belotti or Jonathan David because we’re trying to sign Broja. We’d ideally look for two strikers anyway.

Look, the guy is back fit for pre-season training. Arsenal also pulled out of trying to get Hickey, which speaks volumes.

That’s my only concern as to why I think they wouldn’t be open to that type of deal.

I reckon they’d sell him to us. But in terms of a loan, probably not unless they get desperate towards the end of the window.

The only clubs above us I can see being open to loaning players out to us are the top 2 teams. Possibly 3rd place Chelsea too.

If C. Ronaldo leaves Man Utd I could see them going for Neymar Jr, let's face it - not many others even come close to selling the number of replica kits than CR does

Some of the players mentioned come with huge wage demands.

Let's go raid the likes of Burnley and Watford.

Useful off the bench, at a push, in the early ECL games.

Yeah, Luke Shaw, who played and scored for England last summer in the first final we reached since '66.

That one. We're way out of his league as a club, it's almost funny we're even discussing it.

I don't agree Prophet.

His age and wage will limit his options as he comes towards the end of his time at OT.

I think we are exactly the sort of club he would look at.

I think the one who doesnt is McTominay and would be a good purchase if he was surplus to requirements.

If you're leaving a club like Man United or that ilk, and you're an English player of the right age, where do you go to give yourself the best chance of making the World Cup squad?

We are probably the best shout, considering our manager, the European football, Dec, and what happened with Lingard.

All Shaw needs to do to get in that England squad is play at a decent level and stay fit.

I rate him, would love him here, have long thought him the perfect Cresswell successor.

Wage will be the issue

Yeah that Luke Shaw who could waddle over and claim Andy Carrolls special injury chair, while scoffing a plate of cheese sandwiches and contemplating over his massive stash of money he gets each week.

Personally, he doesn't seem to be a Moyes type player who would dig in the trenches.

Used to be one of Southgates favourites but for me he can't be trusted.

We have been down this road before, signing injury prone players...never again...

Are individual players wages set in stone? If Shaw, or any fringe England player looking to catch Southgate's eye, wants to move to where he can get regular game time there are a limited number of clubs who can do this, and if they all laugh at his 'demands' he's welcome to sit on the bench counting his money and watch the world cup on his hundred inch telly.

Luke Shaw is a really good player and still only 26 (27 soon, so nearly 35 in certain people’s eyes). He’d be brilliant for us, but he simply misses too many games through injury (whether it’s his body or mind, or both, letting him down then who knows) but he’s also only a huge salary, so can’t see it happening.

Fat frank sniffing around dennis, is moyes going to lose another target. for 18m he is a no brainer. can cover across the front 3 . we can still wait for broja but at least we have the antonio and bowen cover we need. has pace, scores goals in the PL 24 years old. ideal.
