Popped down to the cigar shop in Teddington earlier for a couple of weekend lardies.

Mentioned to the owner (who I've got to know over the years) that one of the cigars I bought the last time I was in was a really tightly rolled stick that was almost unsmokable. I only told him as a heads up as there were still a few left in the box, but as an apology (and very unexpected), gave me a different one for nothing.

Just smoking it now whilst washing it down with a couple of ice cold Moretti's. Lovely!

Coming on here despite the world's problems and someone you get to know a bit due to his posts becomes a grandad. Puts it all into perspective.

Getting a phone call from dermatology at 20 to 10 asking if there is any chance of me getting to them for 1030 to have this little b*stard cut out of my back.

You ****ing bet I can, and I'm sitting in the waiting room already - the bonus of being at work just 5 minutes away from where I had to go! Took me longer to find a parking space that it took to get here 😁

My 8 yo nephew has a few badly broken bones from bouncing off something hard. Apart from putting the family through a few worrying moments he had surgery this morning and is now recovering with two limbs fully plastered. We just video called him and said as he'd been brave he deserved a reward and want did he want....

With a wry smile....."The new WH kit?'

Little git. So I ordered it.

Brilliant! Lucky little so & so. Let’s hope he doesn’t go and break a couple more limbs just to get the away kit from his Aunty Jonah.

DL is going to get bought the home & away strip plus a season ticket plus gratis bond holder status the way he’s going. Good luck with it all DL, I hope you get it all sorted.

Getting a phone call from work telling me that it's come to light people's annual leave was screwed up when we were on furlough, and I'm owed some so would I like to take it for this week rather than sick pay - then the icing on the cake was that they're going to pay me for all day yesterday despite only being in for two hours, and stick it down as an overtime day, so I get paid more.

Actually makes a change they're actually being decent - although it also makes me nervous... :arry:

The Lyrics Game thread on the Music.... part of the forum.

Sometimes, the next quote to come along is close to perfect in the mood it evokes.

This is for you, JP, a film-maker's tribute to Tom Waits' song you referenced.

Mrs DL getting a job that she's always wanted to do, now she's got the experience in multiple fields. I'm proper made up for her, because as well as a pay rise, it means that we save money during the school holidays on child care, and she's now going to be head of family liaison and safeguarding at a schools trust!

What makes it all the more remarkable, is that she had the interview on Monday, an hour or so after I got back from the hospital and broke her the news I had skin cancer.

I'm so ****ing proud of her.
