I find it strange people genuinely think we’re gonna replace him. We won’t sign a left back, moyes overrates him imo.

If, for whatever reason, a new left back doesn't come in, then I'd ld be interested to see if Aguerd goes in at left back.

Has he played there before then? I hope I’m massively wrong & we get Left Back in. I don’t think we will, I’d still expect Cresswell to start anyways.

After Cresswell proving he cannot handle 'Big' games. We will either be signing a LB or moving Johnson there (where he is better) and getting a RB.

Either way, Cresswell will get games, which is fine, we know he is decent some times. As long as we don't play him in the biggest games of the season. Maybe Ashby, Longelo will earn a spot this summer too.

Still hoping for Maehle or Sosa though.

We thought that in January.

Instead he cost us the Europa league semi. Great servant though

Unlikely unless it’s on loan given they have f*** all money.

So Philips is reportedly on close to £150k a week at Citeh. Is that double what Dec gets?

And who might they have in that position who they could sell to make money?

No chance they get Broja and keep Calvert-Lewin.

It may be, but Rice hasnt just signed a new deal like Phillips has. When he does, and whoever that is with, he will easily be on more.

If it starts getting to 30-35m for broja then DCL for 50m starts to look good!!

I think we’ve (ironically) got ourselves into a bit of a bind with our recent success on the pitch.

By finishing ‘best of the rest’ the last two seasons, if we want to genuinely buy players who will improve us, that means that we are aiming for the same ones as the Sky Six + Toon. But we simply aren’t as attractive to those players as those we are competing against, so will almost always get guzumped.

Plus we can’t get close to competing with them either on transfer fees or wages. Even if we were prepared to throw massive wages at individual players, it would be a huge risk to the morale of the rest of the squad, so carefully nurtured over the last couple of years.

I don’t envy Moyes in this situation. Trying to buy quality must be an absolute nightmare with what he’s got to work with.

I don’t think he’s dithering at all. I just think he’s probably got the most difficult job of all the Premier League managers to try to actually improve his squad.

Dunno why everyone is dismissing Chelsea doing Everton a favour ( and damaging us)

Think about it. Entirely plausible

Doubt they would sell Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in the same window.

He could be on £50,000 a week more than that if he signed the new contract.

Bang on, just discussed this with a Hammer down the gym, we are stuck in no man’s land, a £200m business trying to match £3-500m outfits, while others try to catch us, and Villa and Newcastle have owners actually prepared to spend their own money 😳
We need to find another couple like Soucek, Coufal and Bowen, which isn’t easy.

Their money issues are stark. And they have players who don't want to play for a lower-table side.

Broja in, DCL out gives them a positive in the balance, especially if they wangle a loan. Gives them time to do whatever with new owners possible, and staves off their massive FFP concerns.
