I had a similar playlist blaring out last summer,Apple music- ‘90s Alternative Essentials’ playlist, whilst I was sanding, undercoating and painting a load of woodwork out the front of the house. Got a bit nostalgic I can tell you.

not everyone's cup of tea no doubt.

loved this band from the off. doesn't disappoint at all. enjoying a nice melodic Saturday evening, cup of coffee and a glass of Flor de Cana 12 year old rum, watching the MMA

life's good...

:newthumb:

Band of Horses’ sixth album unexpectedly delivers on all the qualities that defined their initial success: soaring emotions, crunchy guitars, and Ben Bridwell’s cotton-candy whine.

didn't hit me quite as strongly as the first album did, but it's still a pretty good listen.

when I read that bit in Pitchfork, I didn't realise he'd dumped the entire band.

TWICE.

There are two types of music at our 4th of July BBQ.

Traditional country Thai & Lao music which everyone else is listening to.

Then this House mix with the white bloke is listening to.

Plus the fireworks & gunshots from all the neighbourhood lunatics.

You guys get the gunshots into the air in ur hood? Happens every year here, mostly in the East Bay, and invariably someone always gets hit by one of the bullets falling back to earth.

no July 4th fireworks here.

but considering that Ecuadorians LOVE their fireworks there is hardly a day goes by without we get some sort of explosions somewhere in the city. and normally in a neighbourhood close to you.

birthday ? no problem fireworks.

anniversary ? no problem fireworks

someone died ? no problem fireworks

no fireworks ? no problem fireworks

NYE is a complete extravaganza. fully 15 plus minutes of people paying for their own fireworks. all over town. it's absolutely brilliant.

I take my drink sit on the "terrace" and watch.

and not one person gets shot. well not usually anyway.

Shooting at academy leaves 2 dead and 2 injured in Loja

however, go to prison and you're likely to be decapitated and your body mutilated and probably burned as well.

Ecuador declares prison emergency after 116 killed in riot

think that's not the total for last year and this

we're becoming one of the centres for drug routes after the other routes have been squeezed.

the Mexican cartels are running the drugs through here because we're not policed that well and the populace are pretty poor and obviously are subject to the prospect of making easy money.

that's a different thread though. sorry to go off topic.
