Agreed. The team felt stale. Very noticeable that when Scamacca came on some sparkle came back. Cornet will hopefully add more next week.
This is my hope. Bit of new energy might make quite a difference.

Seriously bro. The result wasn't even important after that revelation. It was like turning up at a new place today.
As soon as I saw the starting line up it was clear the best we'd do was a scrappy, lucky draw but we'd probably lose. Desperately need one or two new faces.
Another note, I can’t stand playing teams like City at the bowl, not only are they bloody boring and Sap the energy from the crowd, but the amount of tourists is ridiculous, 4 people filming the second goal celebration near me. I had to say something, it’s not on. By all means watch the game, but don’t do crap like that.
dont want to pick on any of our players today, it was lacklustre against a very good opponent , with a razor sharp striker , we couldnt get the ball, and when we did we couldnt keep it , we will get a better idea of where we are next sunday .

I think this is part and parcel of what happens when you move from a ground like Upton Park to there. Plus football has become very 'social media-lised' over the past few years.
Won't play a better team and having watched us in pre-season I expected worse to be honest.
Got it out the way and Fornals still frustrates the hell out of me not running with with the ball or moving forward, he slows everything down to go sideways/backwards nearly every time he gets the ball on the attack.
However, considering his lack of pre-season and training with us thought Scamacca looks the real deal, seriously good and when facing lesser defences is going to be great to watch.
Get Cornet in with him and Bowen and it's looking good in attack
Antonio looked a shadow of his former self, even before his injury. His entire game just seems to be reversing into people to try to draw a foul. Soucek had his worst game for us, just seemed clueless. Fornals and Lanzini totally ineffective. I wouldn’t start any of them next game.
Our defence always seems to play well even when the first choices aren't available. Before Oggy's injury we had a back 7 which was capable of challenging for top six. But our forwards generally rarely achieve the the consistancy required to hit that target, and are severely challenged when playing against such strong opponents
Good that we have found two replacements who will improve things...it was a lot to ask to replace all the forwards in one window.
