I’d play a back 3, Forest play similar to Brentford & both times last season we should have matched them up I think. Lanzini is finished & Fornals has been getting away with some really poor performances since January.

Johnson Zouma Cresswell

My biggest concern is getting caught with pace on the break.
Whether it's Cresswell or Dawson it's a major concern.

I really don't want us sitting back and inviting pressure because of it.

Wonder of we could see a back 4 of:

Coufal---Johnson---Zouma---Cornet
---------Soucek---Lanzini----Rice
-------Bowen---Scamacca----Fornals

I’d be very disappointed to see our new attacker at LB to be honest.

Cornet in front of Cresswell will be fine imo. He has the pace to cover where Fornals doesn’t.

That looks good to me. Anyone got a bloody clue how Forest will line up?

Yep fully understand that.
Just don't see how Cornet can cover Cress if he is up field.
Yes he can sit infront of him like Fornals does, but it doesn't help Cresswell getting caught on the counter attack.

Even if Johnson was playing LB it would mean Dawson in the middle and same pace issue

Yes…I think you are right. I remember the tv highlights next day commenting something like ‘no others supporters would be this happy during defeat’. I recall thinking it was resignation rather than happiness, but it was a great day out.

Can you remember the year?

Moyes cagey about whether he will be ready. If not then I guess it’s Johnson again.

Rumour, probably unfounded, that Oggie is on the bench. My neighbour has a cat that is friends with the cat up the road, and its owners are ITK at the medical centre that supply supplementary physio staff to West Ham.

Or my grandson told me, one of the two.

Must be the place where Zouma is doing community service.

Feeling a 3-1 win… Lingard to score against us obviously, and to then get clattered and have to come off injured.

If both Oggie and Dawson are playing catch up on match fitness then I'd seriously consider giving them 45 minutes each rather then stick Johnson in there.

Daws and Ogbonna would really take it to them

Since January? A bit of an exaggeration, for me, but fair enough.

I wouldn't select Benrahma to start in any West Ham match, tbh, even if there were no question mark over Cornet's ability to do so.

Whatever we might say about Fornals and the strength of his performances, Benrahma is positionally, technically and even in terms of team ethic, inferior to him.

I think we’ll see Scamacca and Cornet start. Id like to see Benrahma centrally ahead of Lanzini, who has been lacklutre for some time now.

I think we will dominate and win comfortably. Yeah Im saying it. :crest:

1991 I think...couldn't get a ticket, rented the biggest telly I could from RR and smashed the screen by throwing a can of lager at it when Gale was sent off :cried:

Benrahma is a better goal scorer though. And arguably more productive albeit inconsistently.

Whether this is down to managerial instructions or the player who knows, but Benrahma outscored and out assisted Fornals in less games last season.

I'd always favour Fornals, but clearly Benrahma isn't completely useless, especially against this level of opposition.
