Regarding Cornets performance... it's worth remembering that he missed the majority of Burnleys pre-season games (or so I was led to believe), so it might take him a few games to get to full match sharpness.

Don't worry Coops. Cresswell will be back soon.
By the way, was anyone else in block 246 (row 34) where that Romanian bloke was sitting? He was the one in the (ahem) colourful shirt that kept jumping up shouting "Faster London, Faster". Me and Eggs Jnr.1 were sitting right next to him.
I said to Eggs Jnr.1: "FFS! We haven't been here for about three seasons and we're still a magnet for the nutters!"

Whilst the comments on here about Coventry's performance are mostly fair, the one point that has not been made is that he was the best of our three starting midfielders. I accept that this is, though, faint praise.

Yep, agree with most of it, but...Cuenca 'ammer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 1:04 pm https://www.kumb.com/article.php?id=44380
good read as usual by Jack Elderton.
Ben Johnson (8)
I know he's out of position and the stats may say his passing was good but my eye disagrees. The passes were soooo slow especially to Ashby. someone needs to teach him how to put some zip in his pass.
Angelo Ogbonna (5)
5! He was rusty, but if Johnson was an 8.... So much better when he's on the ball in the defense

To be honest Albie, he wasn't.
It was more him jumping up and down like he was having spasms, singing Romanian songs of some description and continually yelling at the Viborg fans to "F**K OFF" every couple of minutes (one of the very few bits of English he could muster).
He disappeared at half-time and wasn't back for the second half whistle. We thought he may have found somewhere else to sit, but no, back he came about 5/10 minutes in, even more demented!

I think he's far too interested in stats, which don't really tell you much, especially from a single match. Then again, I agree that Scamacca wasn't that good, he was struggling to link play effectively, which I heard was a strength of his.

I thought Scamacca needed runners around him and just didn't get that. We need movement.Collison Theory wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 10:49 pm I think he's far too interested in stats, which don't really tell you much, especially from a single match.
