He is indeed, but I’d still prefer to see him win rather than Djokovic. Although it is looking unlikely at the moment

Re: Tennis 2022
Anyone else see Luis Boa Morte in the crowd when Djokovic climbed up thru the crowd at the end?

Because of the umpires name Litchkenstein (sp) I now have Monty Python's philosophers Song in my head.

No vax is just a machine. He can trade shots with you all day until you miss one. He just wears his opponents down. So impressive. Shame he's a bit of a **** though.

Re: Tennis 2022
Raducanu has been beaten in the first round of the US Open - the one she won so memorably last year.
I said to a few people a while ago it wouldn’t surprise me if she never won another meaningful tournament again - how she won the US Open last year I don’t know, and I hope she can turn this form around, but never feel that confident when she plays a match at the moment.

In top line sport it's harder to stay at the top than get there. Makes you admire all those dominant champions who do it year in year out.kenthammer1984 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 9:02 am Raducanu has been beaten in the first round of the US Open - the one she won so memorably last year.

Raducanu is a mystery to me. The talent must be there but clearly there is other stuff. I thought it strange she immediately split with her coach after winning last year, seemed bizarre to me. Has money and fame already hit her focus?

IMHO, she's a fluke. A top 100 player for sure, and maybe a top 40 player. But I don't see that Grand Slam quality about her. Hope I'm wrong of course and this year's the blip, not last year.

Re: Tennis 2022
There was probably a lot of star-alignment in her run to last year's title. Didn't she face another unseeded girl in the final? Maybe it was an unrepeatable fluke combo of good play on her part married to all the front-runners falling. A bit like Leicester.

Crazy Nick dumped the holder out yesterday, seems like he's found the control he needed to convert his talent into success. Say what you like about the man, he's 100% box office dynamite, a welcome antidote to the anodyne players of recent memory.
