Put it this way. Last night he provided a pen by being where he was in the penalty box to get pushed, provided an assist for scamacca and got the opposition two yellow cards. i think that's a pretty good nights work myself.

He wasn’t bought as a first team player but as rotation and for different formations…

I would also not blame all the offsides on him some our players just don’t release the ball at the correct time!!

I don’t love the talent, but I really like him as a squad option who will give his all, has pace and can finish the ball.

We don’t often have those qualities off the bench and in rotation.

He's got an unpredictability that we don't seem to have much of these days (except for in defence!).

I don't think he'll be considered to be in our strongest XI very often, but I'm convinced he's a brilliant addition to the squad.

He's gonna stick a fair few in the top corner this season. :scarfer:

Bloke's a bit hit and miss, but he makes things happen. Bit like Antonio.

He's not the kind of person who will reliably keep possession. He tries to make things happen, and they do happen. Losing the ball, being offside, these things are a consequence of that. I think he's doing well and that there's more to come.

Only bloke that seems to be willing to run in behind and run towards the opposition goal. Yes he loses possession but at least he's trying to go the right direction. If he was played less wide and miles from goal, he'd have bagged a few by now.

i thought he was brought in as a first choice left winger?
he did also play left back for lyon.
the guy scored 9 goals in 26 matches (better than 1 in 3) in a pretty duff burnley side , why would he not be first choice?
I agree he's no more prone to being offside than any other player and i'd say less prone to losing possession than benrahma is

Not as good as Pablo. He’s not really a passer, retainer of the ball or creator. Seems like more of an ‘end of the sequence’ player. But we also have better strikers than him.

So I’d actually be somewhat interested in seeing Cornet at LB. I doubt he’s reliable enough to play there or good enough to pass us out from the back but I don’t think he’s good enough to start for us at LW, RW or ST and left back is one of the weakest positions in our team.

Realistically his best position is utility man who will get a lot of game time over the course of the season.

Many Lyon supporters grew tired of him because of his lack of elegance and his occasional clumsiness. But he was praised by every manager for his work ethic and the multiple options he offered them with his versatility. Personally, I loved the fact that he makes things happen, even if not conventionally nor beautifully.

I seem to recall that Moyes said he has had a set back in his recovery.

I have no idea if he's any good or not but I'd like to find out.

Downes as DM, Rice & Paqueta in front, Benrahma & Cornet each side and Scamacca leading.

On Andy Carroll's injury table? Didn't Moyes say he had an ankle, shin and calf problem? Perhaps they've ordered a new leg for him?
