Motown v Stax
Motown became far far more about business than art. So Stax.

NWA v Public Enemy
PE were the leaders.

Alison Moyet v Sade
There's not much music that I can't listen to, but Sade makes me nauseous

Cliff v Elvis
If Elvis bummed you, you'd be grateful.

Def Lepperd V Iron Maiden
Maiden for the West Ham content

Cornwall v Devon
Cornwall has a place in heaven, Devon is a place on Earth

T.Rex v Slade
Dave Hill makes me prefer T Rex

Des O'Connor v Wogan
If Wogan bummed you, you'd be grateful

Mushy Peas v Curry Sauce
Give peas a chance

Dynasty V Dallas

Not to your taste, perhaps.
I'll give you that he is an above average player, wasted on the Smiths music. Imo of course.

Okay, I’m gonna go with Stax, purely on the strength of them having the most Blues Brothers in their house band.

Not generally keen on the sounds of Motown or Stax. My labels of choice have tended to be outfits like Earache, or American Recordings or somesuch. Still, a quick Google tells me Isaac Hayes was on Stax so let's go with them.

We're on a mission, y'all!

Sade. I want to say Alf coz Basildon but Sade was - and is - different class. And tbh I didn't really like any of Alf's stuff away from Yazoo.

F***ing hell, eggy! The King of Everything versus the Warbling Wimbledon Turkeyneck?? In WWE they'd call that a "squash" match. It's a one-sided trouncing courtesy of the King. Uh-huh-huh! Thangyouverrmuch!

Maiden!
westham,eggyandchips wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 6:42 am Cornwall v Devon
Cornwall (never been to Devon so this is a bit of a default win)
westham,eggyandchips wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 6:42 am T.Rex v Slade
T.Rex. Can't stand Slade.

Wogan
westham, eggyandchips wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 6:42 am Mushy Peas v Curry Sauce
Don't rate either of them. Sloppy green glug versus sloppy orange glug. Both serve only to utterly ruin a nice portion of chip-shop chips which require nought but lashings of salt and vinegar.

(mrs.caress loves both but she said the winner for her has to be curry sauce)

I've seen neither for decades. At the time I'd have said Knight Rider in the blink of an eye but I reckon I'd possibly enjoy The Fall Guy more these days.
Roby wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 9:46 pm Dr Dre v Snoop
Didn't use to like Snoop but he's grown on me over the years. But I was never into Dre, and I'm still not.

I think it's still Ahnuld for me thanks to the Holy Trinity of The Terminator, Commando and Predator but, increasingly, I find myself favouring Sly. Rocky (the first one), First Blood (again, the first one), the remarkable Cop Land, the dumb-but-fun Expendables franchise (I appreciate they're both in those but they're really more Sly movies than Arnie pics), plus Sly's appearances - such as they are - in the MCU and the DCEU, both of which outstrip Arnie's contribution to the superhero genre in Batman and Robin.

Tough one

Both a pair of twats, but JCVD gets the nod for the Coors adverts
De Niro v Pacino
Both phoning it in these days but Bobby shades it when comparing them in their prime
The Fall Guy v Knight Rider
Loved The Fall Guy so easy win for Lee Majors over the Hoff
Dr Dre v Snoop
Snoop
Wayne’s World v Austin Powers
Wayne’s World hasn’t aged well, but back in the day I bloody loved it so it wins over Austin Powers which I didn’t really take to
Stallone v Schwarzenegger
Sly, all day long. Rocky and First Blood have stood the test of time far more than any of Arnie’s work and Cop Land shows that contrary to popular belief, Sly really can act. Something Arnie would never be accused of

Stax … had more of an impact on my musical taste in my youth

NWA v Public Enemy
PE all the way … Their debut album still gets frequent spins

Alison Moyet v Sade … Alison M - still got a wonderful voice and seems like a good egg on social meeja

Cliff v Elvis
Pass but Cliff for The Young Ones connection

Def Lepperd V Iron Maiden
Pass but IM for the eye-Rons connection

Cornwall v Devon
Devon … Some wonderful beaches, plus Cornwall is just a traffic jam during the summer

T.Rex v Slade
T. Rex … the songs, and Marc had a better hairstyle

Des O'Connor v Wogan
Wogan … slightly less cheesy than Des

Mushy Peas v Curry Sauce
Mushy peas belong with fish and chips, curry sauce is a culinary car-crash

Dynasty V Dallas
Pass - never watched either

You've already got the order right in the question imho. Actual penguins > Pingu > Burgess Meredith > chocolate Penguins (I never liked those tbh)
