Re: Takeover talk
FFS when will people realise having rich owners (let's face it none of them are short of a few bob) doesn't mean the club is rich.Aztec Hammer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 6:39 pm
Given that and the window we've just had... maybe when this is all said and done, we will be a richer club than we might have previously thought.

Which is exactly why I referenced the window we just had. You know, the one where we spent the third most in world football.
ffs.

Re: Takeover talk
I still don't reckon they're going anywhere.
they'll be on the board in some way shape or form. aren't the kids on the board also ? can't see Sully putting his kids on the board for them to get the push a year or so later.
Sully is too much of a meedja whore to ride off into the sunset......

Re: Takeover talk
I think there will be alot of disappointed people come the summer.
I don't think Kretinski has any real wish to buy us outright & even if he does, I doubt he will be golden goose we would like him to be. He's far more likely to flip us for a profit to "add investment fund name here".
I do hope I'm wrong however, the cold weather may be making me maudlin...

f*** me I hope not Dave. I’m down to crushing the occasional bug and mashing it in my gruel.

Re: Takeover talk
Nope, you are not wrong, I tend to agree. I know of no burning reason for either Gold or Sullivan packing it in as yet. A lot will depend on how we do for the rest of the season. I'm not sure how people on here will feel, but the better we do I think increases their chances of staying. These guys have pots of money already for them and their family's to live very comfortably. Kretinsky's 'only' interest is in making money, if that coincides with supporters needs and wants then fine, but I doubt it.DublinDave wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 6:19 pm I think there will be alot of disappointed people come the summer.

Re: Takeover talk
There is nothing realistic in thinking Gold has a future at the club. He is at deaths door and his daughters have no interest so it’s whatever is best suited to providing the family the best tax deal and equity release as to what and how long that name is associated with the club come March. I suspect Kretinsky hasn’t invested so much to be tied into being a perpetual minority shareholder unless there is already a deal sorted to make everyone a massive pot of gold which could only be property related. Whatever happens come Summer I agree I fear Sullivan wont be able to let go entirely.

Re: Takeover talk
Exactly right imo. Has anyone seen Gold? His face looks like sausage meet has been repeatedly bludgeoned by hockey sticks on a winter's day. I reckon Kretinsky or a surprise Tripp Smith JP Morgan bid will buy gold's shares making them major share holder. It's a no brainer. Sully has no vision and no plan and no major funds.

Re: Takeover talk
Doesn't Kretinsky already have an agreement to buy the club at an agreed price should he so wish?
