If it’s similar in tone to Rogue One (and it looks like it is), I’m excited.

First three episodes of Andor up on Disney Plus. Will watch tonight but the critics have been giving it very positive reviews to the point I’m worried I won’t like it as much as it has been hyped.

Watched all three episodes of Andor (off work this week.) No spoilers obviously but it is everything I hoped a Star Wars TV show could be. Fantastic start.

Andor does feel a bit dragged out but it's quite good. I think it's now going to ramp up several gears in episode 4.

Just finished Andor: at last, a Star Wars offering without cute. As soon as the bloody ewoks appeared, the whole thing wend down the pan until Rogue One. This is adult stuff about how a rebelllion is won: with commitment, grit and sacrifice and not with magic and teddy bears.
Hope it goes to a second series.

^^^^ Read something about a sequel to rogue one, was meant to be set after ROTJ and about hunters (alliance) who went out searching for ex-imperial people to find/execute/put on trial, etc. bit like the post-war nazi hunters.
sounded like it would have been a good story, bit dark, bit gritty.

Second series already filming. I also really enjoyed this series.Toulouse_Iron wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 12:36 pm Just finished Andor: at last, a Star Wars offering without cute. Yep, binged it over the weekend with my 15 year old son and we both loved it.Toulouse_Iron wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 12:36 pm Just finished Andor: at last, a Star Wars offering without cute. Finished Andor this morning having watched an episode or two every day for a week or so. Started well, flagged a bit through the slightly padded-out middle before finishing strongly. For me, not as good as The Mandalorian or Visions but better than every other Star Wars show on Disney+. Tempted to rewatch Rogue One asap to see if the character has more resonance for me now.

Re: The Star Wars Thread - May the Force be with us (Spoilers!)
May the 4th be with you all.
With the incoming release of Ahsoka (whom I know little about) I've recently been watching Star War Clone Wars... I was put off by the very kiddie season 1 (and almost gave up) but was encouraged to continue, it really develops into something very good (and is not really for kids at all) Some of the multi-episode story arch as better written than the prequals that they sit between.
(I'm on to season 4 --apparently it gets even better) Well worth it (if you are interest in Star Wars stuff.)

Re: The Star Wars Thread - May the Force be with us (Spoilers!)
I really love the clone wars series. Definitely has some lows but the highs are on par with the best of Star Wars. The final 4 episodes of series seven being the absolute pinnacle. It also introduces so many great characters that are being brought to live action now.wolf359 wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 11:32 am May the 4th be with you all.

Rebels is also really good. Animation style can be a bit jarring at first and a lot of people find the first season a bit kiddie some some great characters and stories. Doesn’t quite reach the highs of the clone wars but nowhere near the lows.

That was the right call. By the looks of it there are about 3 male characters in this Ashoka series. I'm sure that'll go down well with the youtube trolls
